Anyone given FanDuel.com a go? I had pretty good success on it last night, curious how easy it is to get money out.

So, I'll take that as a no. It's daily leagues with a salary cap. Example, 35k cap, fill out a lineup of P, 1B, 2B, SS, 3B, C, 3 OF. From reading posts in here, there are several people in here who know a ton more than I do about Rotobeisbol. I deposited $25 on Tuesday, and have made $220 in profit from playing $5 & $10 leagues. I've also withdrawn my original $25 and it has already hit my paypal account. Some of you smart people can probably make a little coin on this thing. The site does take 10% and redistribute the rest, so a $10 5 team league, will pay back $45 to 1st place.

You can deposit & withdraw via paypal. It seems on the up and up.

I hit for a little cash during football season on freerolls. I've since treaded water for the most part since then on NHL, NBA and now MLB. I don't play alot though...once in a while when I think about it. I won two $1 MLBs the other night...I might have played a couple earlier in the MLB season.

If you go over into the Shark Pool and search fanduel there will be a number of threads from during the football season if you are looking for add'l info.

I just started playin a little at draftday.com. Sounds pretty similar. I've got a couple of wins, but I haven't been doing very well.

Today, I'm sporting a lineup of:

SP's: Pomeranz and Doubront (the real stud SP's seem to rarely throw up a monster game, so I'm going with spot starters for a while)

C: Posey

1B: Pujols

2B: Kendrick

3B: Middlebrooks

SS: Hanley

OF: Braun, Bruce, Beltran

UTL: Dunn

I'm running Pomeranz out there tonight in the two $10 leagues I signed up for tonight. I was thinking about switching to Zito, if Kemp is out tonight.

Going to give this a try.

I've never played fantasy beisbol but did fairly well on Fanduel during football season.

I, formerly known as madhatter, ending up losing a couple of hundred last year. Beating the juice proved to be difficult.

If you like baseball you'll find fantasy baseball>>>>>>>>>>>>>>fantasy football

So many more variables and it's a marathon, lots of fun especially in keeper leagues.

I enjoy baseball but have not really followed the sport for a long, long time so I'm not sure I'm ready for the grind of a whole season. With my extreme lack of knowledge, I think gambling on daily leagues is obviously the logical way to dip my toe in the water.

I started playing Fanduel baseball this year. I entered the freeroll on Opening Day and won $2. The next day I parlayed the $2 into the largest league I could find for $2, a 2800 team league. My first "money" league. And I won it. It's hard to believe, I know. $700! I've been playing regular fantasy baseball since the mid-1990s successfully, and that night may have been the most exciting of them all. They use paypal if you request a withdrawal, so I gave my wife $500 and kept $200 onsite to play around with.

I've been playing the $10 and $25 50/50s and the Double Ups since then, since they have the greatest odds. So far this baseball season I've won $1,150 on the site (remember, at an initial cost to me of nothing), with $350 of that going towards entry fees.

I'm addicted now, play every day (although I took this weekend off after a 7-game cold streak). I think if you aren't lazy and think of this as a "daily" game rather than a season long game, you can accumulate enough edges to be very successful. I look through some of the entries in the leagues I enter and wonder why someone wants to toss their money away. Beats me.

Are there any FanDuel baseball players here who want to talk strategy?

Stopped reading here. You're doing it wrong.

LOL! That's an appeasement, like the Sudetenland! I've been on a humungous hot streak, up to 17 in a row. Faced off against some momo today who HOSTED a HTH yet started three players on the bench. I mean, just write me a check, thanks.I think if you stick to the Double Ups and/or the 50/50s, you should do fine --- IF you do your homework. If you wing it, forget about it. Check the weather, the lineups, the lefty/righty splts, and then finally who's hot/who's not, and you're gold.

So, I lost $20 Saturday, but came back strong for +$50 Sunday. Thinking about retiring off my fanduel scrilla.

I made my first foray into fantasy baseball on FanDuel a few days ago. So far I've entered a $1 50/50, a $1 tournament, and a $2 50/50 ... and I'M UNDEFEATED! I'm up $5.73 so far, and I'm thinking of taking a step up and wagering $3 tonight.

I don't know any of the players.

Here's my strategy.

1. I look at the over/unders and the spreads to see how many runs each team is expected to score.

2. I look for a pitcher whose team is expected to win, and who is facing a team expected to score very few points.

3. I find the four or five teams expected to score the most points, and fill in the rest of my roster with guys batting #1-#4 on those teams while using up most or all of my cap space.

4. Profit.

Is there anything more to this, or have I pretty much figured out all there is to know?

Looking at the Red Sox lineup for tonight...

It looks like they're starting two first-basemen and two third-basemen. Only two outfielders. (No pitcher, I guess because of pinch-hitting or something?)

How is that possible?

Does that mean one of the first-basemen (or third-basemen) will actually play in the outfield? It's just that his official position is different from where he'll actually play?

MT, I do not know about FanDuel and do not follow it expertly, but Holt is probably playing RF and Ortiz is probably DH'ing. Holt is a utility guy, and Ortiz DH's while Napoli plays first. I'm a casual Sox fan, and the below link seems right.

Cool, thanks. So Holt is listed as 3B for DFS purposes even though he'll actually play right field. And Ortiz is listed as 1B for DFS purposes even though he's not playing defense, just hitting.

FanDuel classifies guys by the position that they have played "most often", so it does not account for the bouncing around the diamond by guys like Holt who play all over the field.

You're destined to become rich.

Seriously, this is way easier than football. I ended up entering nine $1 50/50s tonight. The bad news is that I am no longer undefeated in my fantasy baseball career. I won only eight of the nine contests (all with different lineups).

The good news is that I am now up a total of $11.13 in just three days (and have risked only $13 over that period).

Just wait until I actually know something about a few of these players so that they're no longer all just random names to me. I will be unstoppable.
