FX Thursdays "You're the Worst" & "Married". (1 Viewer)

I figured there aren't enough people that will watch either show to warrant an individual thread.

Married is the only one they promoted, but You're the Worst has some real potential. The leads are pretty funny. Love that redhead. It's the kind of show that would be horrible on a network, but it seems to be in great hands with FX. The premise is kind of dumb, and there's definitely some romantic comedy stuff going on, but the characters are great. Seems like it'll hold up.

The Married pilot wasn't terrible but it was utterly forgettable. Judy Greer is awesome and should've had her own show long ago. Not sure this is the right one, but I'll give it some time.

Fantastic 2nd episode from You're the Worst. I think they might have a Broad City-level hit on their hands here.

Great characters. Great writing. It feels a little familiar, but it's never quite what you might expect.

The restaurant scene was hilarious.

“You’re not dining with them, you’re just dining at the same table as them.”

“You’re really cutting with a semantic Ginsu knife there, aren’t you?”

Will give Married one more try, but the Pilot wasn't nearly as funny as I expected..

Some decent one liners, but most of the episode I was looking at the clock

I thought You're the Worst was pretty good in the pilot, haven't watched last night yet. Married was just meh but there isn't much else on so I'll probably give it longer than I normally would.

You're the Worst just keeps killing it.

Gretchen spreading truth..."you can day drink in any profession if you want it bad enough".

Loved that pizza dude. Loved the Edgar/Lindsay stuff. It's nice finally get into their characters a little more ("I just think of you as the freeloading, kind of dumb Mexican guy that hangs out at Jimmy’s").

And I'm always down for some black dude/big ### humor when done well....“This fool Paul know that if you lose weight, that ### gonna shrink too?”

BTW, if I were making a list of dream 3-way's (FMF, not Kentric style), Aya Cash and Ilana Glazer (of Broad City) would be in my top 5.

Though a person who abhors the willful oblivion & self-involved glaze of the millenial personality, these two forays into "this is the weird #### i do to get through - deal with it" sitcomery have me giggling twice for every grimace (and there are a lot). My first AppointmentTV since Fargo ended.

Saw this thread...and of course it is you....my TV doppelganger.

Love the lead in YTW.

Ilana in Broad City..not for her looks, but she would most definitely be up for ANYTHING.

Yeah, it's not very good yet.
3rd episode was worth keeping it on the schedule.. Haven't watched last nights episode, but hoping it continues with the week before getaway episode..
Last night's was very good (and I agree about last week). Still like YtW more, but Married seems to be finding it's stride.

Yeah, Ilana's no classic beauty, but she'd be so much fun.

I liked the pilot for Your the Worst but the next two weren't as good. I'll stick with it a little longer but I'm not sure where they can go with it to keep it interesting.

Gave up on You're the Worst. I liked the two main characters but didn't laugh much. Might go back to it if I hear it gets a lot better.

Solid, but not as good as other YtW episodes.

Gretchen's new friend though...damn. Overall, possibly the greatest threesome in TV history that never actually happened.

Doubt these shows get renewed but I've been enjoying them this season. Funny, honest look at the dating and married scenes. Love the drug/alcohol use, makes me feel like less of a degenerate. A bonus from this thread is I discovered Broad City, just started the pilot, so far so good.

Let's hope that's not the case. Well, I'm pretty indifferent on "Married". It's okay, but it's probably a bit of a disappointment overall. They are essentially getting the same ratings as YtW, which is either a huge upset for YtW or a huge failure for Married, as it was clearly positioned to be the headliner for Thursday nights.

I'd be pretty pissed if YtW gets cancelled though. This show has so much potential, and I think they are just tapping into it. It started with that great Gretchen /Jimmy chemistry, but they are really figuring out how to get more of the rest of characters now too. I think it can be one of the next great comedies, and it would be such a shame to see it get cut short.

If it didn't mean putting it on FXX, the dream scenario would be Married getting cancelled and pairing YtW up with Sunny to give it a proper lead-in.

Glad you found Broad City. As much as I love YtW, I think Broad City is even better.

Married was a good watch episodes 1-2.. All downhill after that...Got stupid and almost unwatchable IMO

removed from DVR
I was pretty much the opposite. I thought the first few episodes were completely forgettable, but it got better. It was never as good as You're the Worst, but I think there's potential there. Especially the more they give to Jean-Ralphio's twin sister. This could be a huge breakout for her if the show doesn't get cancelled.

It's a tough competition because there were so many great rookie and sophomore cable comedies this year and it's not as good as most of them, but it was still miles better than network crap.

The Halloween episode from last week was pretty good..

the ending was pretty good when she jumps out of the car wearing the Slutty :pirate: outfit and her husband says "Get back in the car, there are still a few neighbors who don't hate us"

Strong finishes for both. They manage to stick the feel good endings without being sitcom sappy. I'll be sad for a minute if they don't renew them.

Good call on Lindsay, she has gotten hotter with each episode, and holy #### at that IMDb link. Lot of talent there.

Love You're The Worst, I'm late to the party.
Almost started a thread on it today. I randomly caught a small marathon of this show about 6 months ago and watched the first 5-6 episodes. Didn't see the rest of season though and missed last week's episode. Anyone know of a way to find these episodes that I've missed....?

Just started watching You're the Worst with my wife last night. Did not have high expectations since I had never heard of it and my wife was the one who discovered it, but saw that it was an FX show and gave it a chance. We both thought it was pretty damn funny

Great finales from both. FX had better renew them.
ok I dig the heavier chick :bag:
That cockaholic gets hotter by the episode
:goodposting: I can't put my finger on exactly when makes her hot but when you put, the hair, voice, pouty lips, and huge breasts all together it works unbelievable well for her.
So hot

A 10 on the would smash scale
:stalker: :jawdrop:

just caught onto this show. freakin' great.

They've gotten her all worked up and sweaty the past two episodes....that's good television watching.
