Glad to get foster at 2. I was a skeptic coming into this season with a bum knee, but that offense is dominant in a weak division.

When Foster is on the field, he is a beast.

Thanks for setting up this thread and thanks to Domination for setting up the draft thread. Look forward to the competition.

glad to be here for a survivior, saw them done before here and glad to be taking part.

good luck and happy drafting to all.

I will do my best to keep up w/ the draft thread, but might only be able to update a few times a day.

I almost always have access if someone needs to send a PM or text

Good luck to everyone, I love drafting this early & seeing a variety of different opinions.

Couple of surprises so far

1) No scathing criticism of taking Rodgers first round (or even Superman with the Flash as his WR1). Usually the heaping is automatic.

2) Graham is awesome, but like Witten, size and hands rather than agility and speed give him the mismatches. If the playbook is the same as 2012, he will be great, not sure 1.07 great. If defenses adjust, could be trimmed down alot. Also, Brees is like Manning, a great QB with no viable backup. Chase Daniels is a hard worker, but has not been utilized in game. No idea of the drop off that might occur. Wayne is phenomenal, but the loss of Peyton dropped him out of the wr1 tier.

3) Forte going at 1.09, I thought this season's performance would catapault him to 1.05. Was he overused, setting him up for return to mean (average) or injury? Stats are not in his favor.

4) Brees at 1.06. Moore had a resurgence, at Meachem's expense, MC played well, and Graham was awesome. Will run game gear up this season though? He was a second round pick in my thoughts, maybe third.

Of course, this last season was my worst in FF. Maybe I am off my game.

I like your assessment. But I think that alot of the mentality has changed from previous years. There are very few RB1s, and I don't think that there are the WR deserving of going early 1st as they have in the 2nd. QBs are extremely safe picks, and normally always go wearlier in WSLs. (WSL2 - 5 in 1st rd), and I think the scoring system lends to TEs going early. My thinking on Graham is this... 2 points per reception is huge, and even if he goes down a few, I still think that he will be a main part of 1 of the most potent offenses in the league. I liked him over Gronk because I think that Hernandez could take some of Gronk's production, and won't be surprised if NE brings in a WR to improve their WR corp. I had my Top 6 exactly as they went, and had to debate between Graham and MJD for my pick.

I'm going to struggle drafting next to Domination. My short list before his pick. 1. Graham 2. MJD.It will probably take all day to get everyone back to the site after the 24 hour crash. Hopefully a little patience will go a long way and everyone will be back in the swing for the 2nd - 22nd rounds.

I think last season really sealed the deal as showing the NFL is has officially become a pass happy league....and why wouldn't it with all the rules designed to encourage throwing the ball.....drafting a QB early is not only a safe pick for injury puposes etc, but grabbing one of the uber elite pretty much keeps you in it most weeks in this format....

5000+ yards and 40+ TDs as the 5th QB taken?

and did I just take a Lion QB in the first round of a draft?

I was happy to get Tom Brady. I didn't think I had a shot at him. Of course the only reason why I was able to get him was because a couple of people timed out. I will count my blessings.

We have had our 2nd timeout and need a replacement.

i have already talked to Bass, and ACP. The pick should be in shortly.

Didn't mean to go RB-RB, but that was were the value fell in my eyes. MJD and Gore aren't a bad anchor for a 16 team draft.

P Rivers

A Foster

B Marshall

Was hoping to pick up a TE at the turn but absolutely no value. Rivers put up some decent numbers this year despite looking like garbage. Marshall is the only show in town, at least in February on a team desperate for a solid QB.

Going way out on a limb with the Homer pick of AD. But that is how these are won.

I think he will be ready barring any setbacks and will be on a mission next year to show that it didn't affect him = running like a beast.

Aaron Rodgers - QB1

Vernon Davis - TE1

Demarco Murray - RB1

Fairly solid, especially if Murray is doing well in recovery post ankle fracture. Don't see anywhere that he has had any setbacks, or that it was a complicated repair. I'd like him to be a bit more involved in the passing game, and likely he will be. Rare for rookie RBs to really pick up pass protection at this level. If I can get a good kicker next round (just kidding), actually seems to be a lot of tier two talent, not a lot of tier one in the RB field.

I'll be off and on the next three days with travel and meetings. Anyone around a lot who likes to take lists?

Tom Brady QB NE

Jamaal Charles RB KC

Darren Sproles RB NO

I picked Tom Brady in the 1st. Picking Tom Brady early in PDSL Gamma last year helped me to win it last year, so I figured might as well try picking Brady again. I'm now a firm believer in getting one of the top notch QB's early in the survivor leagues.

I went into this not looking to take RB's early, matter of fact I thought it would be 4th round at the earliest before I looked at a RB, but I couldn't pass up on Charles in the 2nd and Sproles in the third. Just last year Jamaal Charles was being picked in the top 5 of the survivor drafts. If Charles can come even close to his 2010 production then Charles just may be the steal of the draft.

When getting to my third pick I was fully prepared to pick something other then another RB but when Sproles was still on the board I couldn't pass him up. Sproles had over 80 receptions last year, which is perfect for PPR leagues. I thought Sproles would be taken in the second round so I wasn't expecting to land him in the third.

Calvin Johnson

Michael Vick

Steven Jackson

I'm a believer in Megatron's end to the season and have been drafting CJ in the first round for 3 years running now. But never at 1.01 before

I liked Vick as a potential QB1. Eagles were 6-2 coming down the stretch and Vick was just behind Brady and Cam over the last 5 weeks of the season

Broke my own personal rules about betting early on older RBs, but cannot pass on a perennial 1000 yard rusher in what should be an improved offense and a Jeff Fischer running attack.

I'm also noticing that there are no longer and standards about "going RB early" or any other such trend. Fantasy is becoming a truly position independent game. 2 TEs have become 1st round picks and 2 TEs were 2nd round picks. I remember a time too long ago when I went for the stud TEs early and that was in R4/R5.

Rosters updated on 1st post through round 3.

If you notice any errors please let me know, thank you.

I don't really see a weak team yet, ACP is certainly outside the box, but plenty of time to catch up in other positions.

P Rivers

A Foster

T Richardson

B Marshall

J Maclin

WR got picked pretty clean in rounds 3 and 4. Took Maclin to avoid a lineup train wreck at WR. A ton of options available as I passed the chip for the next long wait. It was hard to pass on quite a few of them that I am sure will be snapped up shortly. Settled for a draft gamble in Richardson.

someone may come out of nowhere and have a great season when all is said and done becoming the SOD at that point.....but as things stand RIGHT NOW this is the steal of the draft.....4th highest scoring player (non QB/RB)....behind only Gronk, Graham, and Megatron.....averaged over 21 points a game in this format.....at 4.14.....if those other 3 are considered 1st round talent, which they have been in all WSL's....then Hernandez is definately 2nd round worthy talent.....making him a steal in the late 4th, practically 5th round.....the fact that he was the 9th TE taken (6 spots lower than where he finished)...while not unbelievable....is a little head scratching....especially after some of the guys taken and definately after Fred Davis who IIRC is facing a 4 game suspension or something.....Punch should be kicked out of the league for that alone.... ;)

Davis already served his suspension and was a top 5 TE last year when he was on the field. He's also the virtual go-to guy in his offense while Hernandez is #3 at best (and the Pats #1 need in the offseason is an outside WR and more mouths to feed). I did debate between the two of them but I like Davis's upside. I worry about players after a PED suspension getting of the juice and not being the same but with FD it was just a little bud. Worst case with Davis; He lays off the weed and has a breakout season. ;)

fair enough...thougt I saw somewhere that he was looking at more games...

he was actually #6 but no big deal...and as far as upside goes....he is a guy coming off suspension and he isn't even on a team right now, so trying to determine his "upside" at this point is impossible...unless you are assuming he goes back to a team that he just let down at the end of last year.....

both Welker and Gronk were healthy all year last year and Hernandez was still the 4th highest weekly scoring non QB/RB player in this format behind those two and Megatron....so he still gets his (and Hernandez missed 2 games).....even if they bring somebody in will it be much more than what Branch, 85, and the rest put together...who knows...and while it is easy to say he is a #3, he is not your typical #3...he ain't Jason Avant or Robert Meachem....

Davis is a free agent....so who knows where he ends up and what his role would be.....will Shanny want a guy back that he can't count on....Hernandez seems locked in to a good situation.......so while he may be a #3 he still put up way better numbers in every category than the virtual go to guy who may not even be back and could end up playing 3rd, 4th, 5th or bench fiddle somewhere else ...

but thats why these are fun as it generates early discussion.....good luck

Shadowmaster - 2 QB's and 2 TE's thru 5 rounds? Very aggressive - will be interested to see how you come back in the middle rounds. Lots of points guaranteed to be on the bench each week.

Ya, definitely. Who knows what happens. If this was one of my money leagues I go Hernandez all day since he's definitely safer. There are rumors that Freddie could get the franchise tag this year, essentially putting him in a contract year again. Hopefully this time he stays off the sticky icky. As for the Pats, I'd be shocked if they didn't bring in Brandon Lloyd. He knows the system, loves playing for Mcd. and Bellichick loves getting aging vets for a discount. It's not the Pats MO to sign a big price player like V-Jax but Lloyd fits perfectly IMO. I live in NE and would love Lloyd here...and so would my dynasty team that has Lloyd. :) To me, the great thing about free leagues is trying different angles.Good luck to you as well.

Seeing as how we have already had almost 1/4 of our league time out.

I figured that I would let everyone know that I am normally around if you want/need to send a PM.

Decisions are so difficult with 28 picks between my selections. Seems like one position just gets hammered in there, and I have to correctly guess which one. I had a little buyer's remorse with Richardson, so I felt the need to get one of the last RBs assured of a decent workload.

Punch has missed his round 6 and 7 picks - he is now on a 1 hour clock. When do we consider a replacement?

Davis already served his suspension and was a top 5 TE last year when he was on the field. He's also the virtual go-to guy in his offense while Hernandez is #3 at best (and the Pats #1 need in the offseason is an outside WR and more mouths to feed). I did debate between the two of them but I like Davis's upside. I worry about players after a PED suspension getting of the juice and not being the same but with FD it was just a little bud. Worst case with Davis; He lays off the weed and has a breakout season. ;)
It was only rumored to be weed, not confirmed. There is a good chance he tested positive for performance enhancers and he'll drop back to earth next year.
