Son of Anarchy League . . . Maybe (1 Viewer)

I made an Anarchy League variation with the following concept. It would only be ONE LEAGUE as a trial for this year to see how it goes. If things did not go horribly wrong I would consider rolling out more leagues starting next year.

http://www6.myfantasyleague.com/2014/home/43287

Here is the initial framework that I had come up with.

- 32 team league

- Total points again, still through the Super Bowl

- Still no trades or weekly lineup submittals

- 1 PPR for all positions

- Roster requirements: 1 TMQB, 2 RB, 3 WR, 1 TE, 1 FLEX (RB/WR/TE), 1 DEF, 1 PK

- 3rd round reversal draft, so team with #1 overall pick would pick first in rounds 1, 4, 6, 8, and 10 and last in rounds 2, 3, 5, 7, and 9. Team with #32 pick would pick first in rounds 2, 3, 5, 7, and 9 and would draft last in rounds 1, 4, 6, 8, and 10.

- Fumbles lost for all positions carry a -2 points penalty.

- XP and FG missed kicks carry a -1 point penalty.

- All FG made are worth 3 points plus 0.1 per yard beyond 30 yards.

- Defensive scoring is 2 points for each turnover forced, 1 point per sack, 6 points per D/ST TD, 2 points per safety.

For points allowed: 10 points for a shutout, 7 points for 1-3 points allowed, 5 points for 4-6 points allowed, 3 points for 7-13 points allowed, 2 points for 14-17 points allowed, 1 point for 18-21 points allowed, 0 points for 22-27 points allowed, -1 point for 28-30 points allowed, -2 points for 31-34 points allowed, -3 points for 35-41 points allowed, -7 points for 45-51 points allowed, and - 10 points for allowing 52 or more points.

For yardage allowed, 15 points for 150 or fewer yards allowed, 10 points for 151-200 yards allowed, 5 points for 201-250 yards allowed, 3 points for 251-300 yards allowed, 0 points for 301-350 yards allowed, -1 point for 351-400 yards allowed, -3 points for 401-450 yards allowed, -5 points for 451-500 yards allowed, -10 points for 501-550 yards allowed, and -15 points for 551 or greater yards allowed.

- AFTER NFL Week 1, each team will have the option to replace ONE PLAYER on his or her team (but only after the first game). Obviously only can replace a RB/WR/TE/PK. No other roster moves beyond that. Score for the new player from Week 1 WOULD COUNT. Score from player dropped would not count.

- Replacement picks would be make IN REVERSE ORDER of the first round of the draft (so team that has #32 pick gets option on first replacement pick).

- Each remaining team would get their shot at whoever was available in the player pool (including players dropped from other teams).

That's basically it. 10 players/teams on a roster. Would end up being the same 320 picks.

are you replacing players each week or just after week 1? how much time do you allow for the replacement pick choice?

So a one time roster move to get relief from an injured player, someone that got cut, a chance to pick up someone with a bigger role, a chance to offload one crappy player for another crappy player that might at least make the playoffs, etc.

I would have to manually make the change for each team, so we could start the process Tuesday morning and all transactions would have to get made by kickoff of Week 2. Given that people could not pre-draft, they would have to email me directly who they wanted (or if they wanted to keep who they already had). We would have to work hard at getting 32 owners to work together to get things done in 5 days and change.

how about a twist of also being able to make trades (players, not draft picks) up till kickoff of week 2?

Part of the reason I have not been a fan of trades or roster moves is we get the leagues hosted on MFL for free as a draft and done league. So whatever we want for roster changes, we will have to do manually through me. Any roster move I will have to change on the draft page to get the players on the right team and scored (basically, it will look as if the players were drafted that way. If I try to open up the site to allow trades through the system, they will try to charge us for hosting an active league.

I suppose we could consider allowing trades, but you would have to trade players at similar positions only (or group players at similar positions in a bigger trade). I would be pretty busy the week between weeks 1 and 2. LOL.

Count me in, though I would guess if you did multiple leagues of this the week 1 waiver move would get tedious. Guess that's why this is a test run!

david week 2 kickoff is thurs night ravens vs steelers. gives you 3 days to get 32 owners communicating.

not sure if you are up for it but I will throw my hat in the ring

Good point. I think it would be tough to get 32 owners together in 3 days. As a work around, I would suggest we just put a freeze on adding or dropping players from teams in the Thurs night game at game time. That would give us two more days to work with.

Any other league suggestions (roster, scoring, etc.)?
Might be intriguing to allow a 1 player swap again at end of regular season before any playoff games have been played?
Don't see that happening. The point of making a swap early is to give people a break that going into the season would have to eat a zero or have a really low score for someone that got hurt or lost his job in training camp. Each team will have to have 18 roster spots that count in the standings. Doing what you suggest would mean every had to have 19 roster spots. Plus with 32 teams, it's exceedingly unlikely there would be more than a handful of players that people would value picking up for the playoffs, so tons of teams would not get any benefit at all.
