LB Stashes? (1 Viewer)

RushHour

Who should be on the radar in more shallow keeper/dynasty leagues where there is an opportunity to sneak a young LB prospect onto a roster before the end of the season? I'm thinking guys who have a 50% shot or better to be starting in a good situation at some point early into next season.

I guess the guy talked about a lot around here is Demario Davis. Is it worth taking a look at JMJ as well in Cleveland, would Kelvin Sheppard be back on the radar? Anyone else?

If you're willing to look at big play types, then potentially Jason Worilds.

Harrison is waaaaaay cheaper to cut than to keep for Pittsburgh next year. As close as they are going to be to the cap with his current money on the books I don't see how he isn't cut. Perhaps he re-signs at a lower rate...but I doubt it.

Worilds has flashed pass rush ability, at least. He actually has looked a lot better playing over the TE than on the weak side when give a chance, but the Steelers could always shift Woodley to the weak side if Harrison is let go and allow JW to keep playing as the SLB.

Bottom line is that if Harrison isn't on the team next year Worilds is currently the first guy in line to absorb those reps.

rookie Keenan Robinson in Washington is supposed to be London Fletcher's heir apparent; Fletcher can't play forever right?

rookie Spence in Pittsburgh was lost to injury but was hyped pretty hard.

LB Hawthorne in NO may be a cap casualty for the Saints. he has been injured some this year, the defense sucked and his production fell off a cliff in NO. his numbers in Seattle were really very good. maybe a change of scenery will help him?

Mark Herzlich is someone to keep an eye on. He has a chance to be the starting MLB for the Giants next year.

Emmanuel Lamur CIN LB

I honestly don't know that much about him, but I have heard the Bengals really like him. He has been on the field some, but still a deep sleeper I think and really the Bengals LB situation is not that sound, he may have a chance to start next year in mho.

Dontay Moch is another stash to look into in Cincy. 2nd round pick two years ago that ran a 4.4 forty. If he ever gets on the field he's at worse a passing down specialist. Some names I'm holding are Jerry Hughes IND, Sammy Brown STL rookie, Terrell Manning GB rookie. Other gambles are Tank Carder CLE, Danny Trevathan DEN, Douglas Hughes CAR. All intriguing long shots I have space for.

Te'o will be LB to own in Pittsburgh defense next year.

Harrison, Woodley, Timmons and Te'o.

Harrison and Woodley just have to stay on the field, they were both productive when they played, trouble was, Woodley hardly played. Worilds will be like a 5th pitcher on a baseball team.

I think it really comes down to what they do with the other LB's more than how good/bad Lamur is. All 3 starting LBs coming into 2012 could be gone next yr as free agents (Lawson, Maualuga, Howard). Burfict is taking a 3 down role at either MLB or WLB, but there are snaps to be had by either promoting someone like EL or bringing in a FA depending on who gets resigned.I expect Lawson to be gone at minimum and 1 of Howard/Rey to be gone.

Have this year's coordinator changes added any names to your target list? I'm in a (ridiculously early) startup draft now, and I've been speculating about who'll play in the middle in Cleveland and, assuming they start running a lot of 3-4, Philly and Buffalo. I remember hearing good things about Nigel Bradham during the season's first few weeks, and PFF has him graded positively in run defense down the stretch. I've never seen him play, though. Might he be worth a roster spot in a larger league?

JMJ in Cleveland. He will make a fit for them regardless of what they do and can obviously play in a hybrid if they go that route for now.

It is way too late probably to get him for cheap. But Ellerbe is a stud in the making. He runs well, he gets a ton of tackles and has a chance to rack up a few sacks along the way. He will be a big priority for Baltimore this off season to sign. This playoff run is not helping keep his price down. He should have been a buy early in the season.
