Anyone know how waivers work on CBS Sportsline? (1 Viewer)

According to the rules : The waiver order resets after each weeks' games.

So that means if I didn't participate in waivers this week and therefore currently have a high waiver priority the waiver priority gets reset based on the standings after the weekend games anyway?

TIA

Ours is like that on CBS, but I think it's more about how the commish sets it up. (tho i could be wrong) I'm not the commish and we've been there for many yrs in my main 14 team $$ league. I really don't like the system, but cant get a vote to pass to change it...

Basically it re-sets every week, giving priority from the worst team to the best. After the wire runs (ours is late tuesday night) it's FCFS till game times.

In theory it makes sense from the perspective of giving priority to the worst teams a chance to get better, but it's annoying as hell if your team is doing well and you know anything decent on the wire will be long gone by the time you pick. I'd like to change to FAAB or some other system, but it takes the league passing a vote.

If you see that wording, that is exactly how it works.

Similar question, but about FAAB.

Our league runs a FAAB claim nightly, which works fine. Except this means no one can make last minute pickups on Sunday morning.

Does CBS allow you to set pick ups to use FAAB, and then allow unclaimed players to be available first come the next day?

They don't. I've ticketed support about it and this was the reply:
Unfortunately, when using the FAAB system, it is the only method of acquiring free agents -- hence, the name: Free Agent Acquisition Budget. When the system is on, its on at all times. Normal add/drops by teams will not be possible. There have been requests for a kind of hybrid system that you describe, but I don't foresee its inclusion any time soon. However, I will forward along your comments to our producers of this product and maybe this is something that may come to pass in the seasons ahead.

Thank you for continuing to make CBSSports.com your Fantasy destination. Please reply to this email should you have additional concerns or more details to provide for updating your question.

Have a great season,

Commish Tom

Our league has used CBS for years. It cost money and is not as good as others based on comments here.

BUT we're LAZY so we kept it.

Under the commish tools you can set waivers "weekly" or you can set "never"

Have your commish reset to "never" and it should carry over. :hifive:

To the OP, yes your waiver order resets at the end of each week based on standings. With CBS waiver functionality is decided by the commissioner in the set up. So you could be priority 1 today and priority 12 tuesday based on records. Your commish may have intentionally set this, or may be ignorant of the available options. CBS is not the most user friendly with set ups (or support), and they change the friggin layout every year to confuse you.....

If you have a private/home league (where someone in your league is the commish) then the Commish can make changes and it will depend on the setting they use. If you play in a CBS public league where the Commish is a computer / NOT someone in the league then the waiver wire is reset every week based on your record plus points for and against for tie breakers.. Hope this helps

Oh, have you tried clearing your cache and cookies..?

Their support sticks you in Tier 1 forever and provides unthreaded email support of the type where you wonder if Commish Brian knows what Commish Derwin asked yesterday.

They turn every issue into a client-based issue, rather than acknowledging any problems with their system.

If they are not intentionally playing dumb as a matter of policy, they are some of the stupidest people on the planet.

To my mind, anybody offering support for a fantasy football platform ought to know the difference between a ROSTER and a LINEUP. Lineup Requirements are not Roster Requirements.
