I don't think we have a catch-all one yet so we probably should. My top 5:

1. Louisville

2. Michigan State

3. Duke

4. Kentucky

5. Oklahoma State

Are any books taking action on the total number of fouls called at the Champions Classic tomorrow night? I'm concerned the tally will reach triple digits.

Hopefully the players adjust at some point, but the new crackdown on hand checks and calling fouls on even the slightest bump is making the games tough to watch.

Everyone ready for the big game tonight? Florida(11) at Wisconsin(20)?
It's funny because generally in November this would be a huge game. Very nice looking win for UW.

Had never heard of him before tonight but I love Selden's game for Kansas. Always refreshing when someone can actually make an entry pass into the post.

Been pleasantly surprised by how complete Selden's game is - he gets caught watching the ball some on defense, but he's a much better passer than advertised.

Also pleased by Frank Mason so far - he was thought to be a potential redshirt, but he might be the best PG on the roster.

Embiid is nowhere near as far along as I'd hoped. Sites like DX putting him in the lottery in their mocks are kidding themselves. There's a lottery player trapped inside him, but he's got a long way to go.

Not concerned about Wiggins. He's a ####### blur with or without the ball and his spacing is outstanding.

The cacophony of ref whistles has taken away a lot of the enjoyment of this game. So much ticky-tack stuff that didn't create an advantage has been called.

That's how it is now. In the long run, its going to be WAY better than it has been the last few years. Much more offensive freedom.

I understand he's got the hot hand, but Parker is playing just a wee bit too selfishly for the Duke offense. With all the easy whistles to be had on drives, there's no need for all the step-back jumpers early in the shot clock.

Oh I agree with that. The NBA went through the same transition and the resulting product was much better. I guess it's frustrating that this particular season was chosen for this with such a strong freshman class. Last year would have been great to phase this in.

Good point. These guys are pretty awesome.

Can we put Dookie V. out to pasture yet?

Even if someone wanted to listen to his horrible shtick, he doesn't have a voice anymore.

College basketball is really unwatchable with these touch fouls. Worst part is the defender isn't getting any love when the offensive player pushes off. And I have seen more consistent traveling calls in he NBA this year. They are seriously letting these kids push off, travel, and then go to the line because someone sniffed them.

I guess there won't be much D in college basketball this year.

:yucky:

Jayhawk freshmen class is going to be amazing. Mason and Selden are going to be a dynamite pair of guards. Embiid looks like a physical freak. And then there's Wiggins...

He missed the main story lines that broke out once the game started. Not a word about how well KU endured their foul trouble in the first half because the second unit played so well. Nothing about how god-awful Parker was defensively, screwing up a lot of what the team was trying to accomplish at that end of the floor.

He made a startling revelation though that Durant and Westbrook is the best young duo in the NBA. I had no idea they were the best young tandem in the pros. I'm glad he cleared that up for us.

Wiggins is the real deal. So smooth and has a really good head on his shoulders.
After the game, Self said they had been practicing with two bigs all preseason, so when they asked Wiggins to start posting up in the second half, they were asking him to do something they hadn't practiced.

He got frustrated by his fouls and took a couple of bad threes, but wow he played great in the second half.

Last year's Jayhawks were an emotional group who checked in with the crowd a lot. But so far this group is different - Ellis and Wiggins are cool customers, and the most excited Selden got was when threw that great pass down the lane for Ellis.

Needs more Frankamp.

He was frustrated early on and part of it is due to this ridiculous new rule of calling a foul if someone breaks wind. He adjusted in the second half and was impressive. I don't know if Kansas has as good of defense as they have in the past, but they probably have more depth than they've had in a while.

I also liked when Dickie declared Jabari Parker the greatest basketball player to come out of Chicago Simeon - in less than a week of college ball he had already surpassed the careers of Nick Anderson and Derrick Rose.

Cliff Alexander reportedly to Kansas. Tyus Jones, Jahlil Okafor, and Stanley Johnson all announcing today as well. Jones and Okafor probably stupid Duke, Johnson probably to Arizona.
