playoff contest (1 Viewer)

Maybe FBG is replacing it with that $200 entry playoff contest? I hope not...would be pretty lame to replace a free contest that was part of the reason many purchased a subscription with one that costs an additional $200 to enter.

Maybe their hooking up with fanduel has turned into greed.

Based on their track record with things like the WDIS contest, I'd imagine this is still in the plans.
The WDIS contest league was cancelled this year and weekly payouts were cut in half. I don't know if that's the best example.

Crossing my fingers though.

Good point, although it may be an indication of what to expect. Still there but not quite the same. I'd be surprised if it was cancelled altogether. We'll see soon enough.

is it happening this year?
Hi Soaring Eagle,

Yes, we're finishing the pricing on it and putting it together now. Seems like we always scramble at the end to get this ready. It'll be like what we did last year.

I'd hope to have it online and ready Wednesday morning. Hope you guys win it all!

Wow, did not expect that. Thanks! We all love this contest.
 Cool - hope you win a ton.

Terriffic! Thanks for keeping this contest alive for your subscribers.

ETA: first FF entry of 2014 since it comes out Wednesday.

This year I had to tell my son there was no Santa Claus. Glad I don't have to deliver more bad news. Thanks, FBG!
Did you tell him yet that the NFL sold out and basterdized the integrity of their statistics by letting Manning keep the record? Poor little guy...

I have not played this before, looks like a great format. I am assuming with 500K in prize money and a $200 entry fee there is most likely 2500+ entries? I really don't care how many entries there are from a competing or profit/loss standpoint but was wondering how many they typically get? ETA: Is the $200 contest the one you are referring to?

No

:excited:

I like how your example is from last year.
Which example?

J
EXAMPLE. suppose you have three Ravens on your team: Flacco, Rice, and Boldin. In the first round of the playoffs, Flacco scores 18, Rice 12, and Boldin 14. For this round, only Flacco and Boldin would count toward your team's score. Rice's points are wasted. Suppose that the next week, in the divisional playoff, Flacco scores 22, Rice 14, and Boldin 7. Then only Flacco and Rice (not Boldin) would count toward your score for that week. Finally, if the Ravens make the Super Bowl and your team is still alive, then Flacco's, Rice's, and Boldin's scores will ALL count toward your score in the Super Bowl.

Anyone have an idea as to where I can find a link to last year's contest? Or at least an idea of expected entries?

TIA.

Ah. I see.

Any thoughts on best way to approach? How much coverage do you need from teams in the WC and divisional rounds to advance? Would only having 2+ players on 5 teams in each round be enough assuming you pick the right players/teams? Do the teams that typically win have tons of players on at least one SB team?

100% Broncos and Seahawks is the way to go ;)
