How long typically til it switches to FA in this scenario?

Yahoo waivers didn't run, oops (1 Viewer)

New claims can not be put in on players that are locked in my league. I tried to see if it would and it said the action was disabled.

Any player that has been requested will be locked starting around midnight Pacific time until the waiver algorithm has completed processing.
You will not be able to try to claim any player with a claim by another team and you cannot cancel any waiver that has been submitted.
When it locks all the players requested, you will see them still with a W (date) next to their names. Unrequested players can be added after that time as FA.
There is a chance that locked players might not be claimed (and dropped back to FA), if someone tried to claim two players, dropping the same player.

Whenever waivers actually run, they will change to FAs.
Lately that's been around 6 or 7 am EST. But today they are really late.

You should be able to pick up FAs during this time just like anyone else. But of course you would have to drop a player as normal, or have an open slot.

What a pain in the A.
Noticed the waivers did not run so I attempted to make a FA pickup for a DEF and it worked. Went in and stoopidly canceled my waiver claim to try to aquire the guy as an FA. The cancel went through but the guy is locked so I could not pick him up as a FA and also could not put in a new claim. Sitting with the #2 prioity, I am probably not going to get the guy. Bah!

Went through in my two private leagues. Guy at work says his private league waivers around 7 a.m. but the public league he is in did not.

9:45 EST nothing from either private league.
My main league (private) ran at 6:50 AM eastern (FAAB)
My private leagues that use the regular (antiquated) waiver priority system have not run yet
One of my yahoo pro (public $) leagues ran 5 minutes ago
Edit: I missed this, my other Yahoo Pro (public $) league ran at 5:50 AM

I woke up at 4am and had trouble going to sleep so I jumped on the Yahoo and no waiver transactions processed. So I made about 4 moves as everyone was available as free agent. Are you folks saying waivers don't run and it is a free for all? I am waiting to hear the gripes if that is the case.

No. When the waivers run late, any player who has a claim on them still show on waivers, but unclaimed players switch to FA at midnight/early AM and can be picked up.

4 leagues. Only 1 waivers have run and it happened just now.
And I am also seeing what others are seeing that those with no claims have switched to FA status and can be picked up.
I didn't put any claims on QB, WR, RB or TE so interesting to see who has claims on them (Palmer, Flacco, Cousins, Crowell, Wheaton, Helu, Holmes etc.).
Hopefully I was the only one focused on D/ST because I am a sad Cincy owner.
And I am also seeing what others are seeing that those with no claims have switched to FA status and can be picked up.

Running a few hours late is kind of a wgaf to all but the most whiny of whiners. Destroying drafts...THAT was a black eye. But still not enough to run many people off.

the only way that happens is if someone did put in a claim for them (locking them) but got something else ahead of CLE and had the same 'drop' player for their claims. in that case, then CLE gets tossed back as a FA.

It is a free site, what do you want? I for one am happy with Yahoo, last I checked MFL has site down issues all the time and people pay for that.

No I wait up until Waivers clear so I can scoop players. Today they cleared but showed Cleveland had been claimed by somebody so I went to sleep. Woke up this morning and somebody scooped them up at 7:42 am as a free agent.

Ahh, yep, that can happen if someone put a claim in for them and then cancelled that claim.
Yahoo should fix this.

Major props to you for bumping an existing Yahoo waivers thread from last year. I mean 99.9% of us would have made a new one. The forum police should give you an award for outstanding forum civility. I figured since most of the forum police only point out the wrongs, you my friend have gone the extra mile. I think you should be put in the Toyota Hall of Fame or at least get a medal.

Actually you can't see which players people have made claims for until the processing 'locks', usually around midnight PST. At that point you shouldn't be able to even cancel any waiver claims requested.

But still, if I put in a claim in today and cancel it one minute later, that player will be one of the locked players next Wednesday morning in between the "FA" release and the actual waiver run. I've done it before several times. Any claims at all will lock that player, even if those claims are cancelled in time.

Why don't they get the waivers done at 12:01? Every week it's at a different time.
That is not an issue.
You didn't put a claim in, rather choosing to take your chances at getting to the FA's before your competitors. But they beat you to it.

Don't waivers run (or are supposed to run) on early Wednesday morning in most leagues? (Not to say that some may be set to Tuesday morning.)

Alright, so another Yahoo waiver question/issue.
This morning before waviers went through, I wanted to change who I was dropping for one of the guys I was picking up. I went through and cancelled my claim and went to pick up the same guy, but drop someone else. It let me cancel it, which was fine, but it wouldn't let me put a claim on that player even though waivers hadn't run. So why would it let me cancel a claim before they run, but not make another one? If claims were locked, then why did it let me cancel mine?

Not sure if it still works this way but....
Couple years ago yahoo would process the waivers a few hours before the results. You could basically sit up and wait, and in the wee hours of the morning you would see the unclaimed players become FA while the claimed players would still be on the wire but with the WW instead of FA designation. Then after an hour or so the system would make the roster changes needed.
My guess is the system had already figured out who got who, but hadn't actually made the changes yet. If it makes you feel any better, in that situation, you were likely outbid and that's why it let you cancel in the first place.

I was actually the #1 on waivers. Which is even stranger. Yahoo's waiver system always seems messed up.
Like you said, you can definitely get on before the claims go through and add people that weren't claimed.
I was on there a good 30 minutes before waivers processed and tried to change it and it wouldn't let me. I don't get why it would let me cancel it if they were in the middle of processing, but I couldn't change it.

This is correct (at least in all my yahoo leagues). As an early riser for work, this glitch has always been highly advantageous, but the flawed system is certainly evident.
