Have your character be replaced by BJ Honeycutt or Charles Emerson Winchester?

Save money working 2 jobs while selling personal property for whatever it is worth at the time. Over the course of a year or maybe 6 months if leaving was really important selling the stuff would be the #1 goal. Living off of the smallest amount of food, rent, luxaries would be important. Pay all bills off... be debt free. Get rid of credit cards as those can be traced in the future. Close all bank accounts and hold cash so save it until the last moments. After that is all done quietly make your way to Canada or Mexico because buying plane tickets in the US are also name mandatory and could be tracked.

Leaving America I would think buying a one way boat ticket to some port in Europe and then slowly make your way to your destination leaving no tracks after the port landing. All of this with cash in hand and a weeks worth of clothes or so. Leaving with minimal materials would be ideal... computer (preferably a new one that was never on the internet), never ever check old email account on that computer, family pictures if you would like, iPod, some other small stuff that will get you buy.

No, I never thought of doing this... :)

Just saying, if you want to leave with few worries other than family guilt you have to plan. If you are in trouble with the law or the Mob or bookies... take all money and whatever can fit into your car and go.

Get a minor part in Star Trek and then request to go on a landing party...
Star Trek is off the air, silly.
Build a time machine, go back to the 60's, get a minor part in Star Trek, and then request to go on a landing party...
Don't forget to bring your red shirt with you for this trip, you will need this.
I actually typed the red shirt thing in. I added the gold rings around the cuff though. NiceBack on topic though.
