Week 2 Micellaneous Questions... (1 Viewer)

can't speak for all leagues, but in mine, offensive players cannot score defensive stats. The site software doesn't register it. It would have to be a manual add in by the commish. We have set rules in place in our constitution that states offensive players can't score defensive stats just to cover this.

Why would you even want offensive players to accrue defensive stats? They have plenty of opportunities to score. Do you really need credit for a tackle every time there is an interception too? Sounds silly to me, but to each his own.

MFL has the capability to score defensive stats for offensive players (and offensive stats for defensive players, special teams stats for either, etc.). So fortunately you can set this to your liking.

I know I wouldn't be very happy if I lost one week because my opponents' QB pushed a guy out of bounds after throwing an INT...

Obviously you two are missing the point. My league let's offensive players get points for defensive tackles, forced fumbles and fumble recoveries. I'm not asking for your opinions on whether this scoring system is valid. I'm just asking a simple question on why Bell didn't get credit for his tackle and his forced fumble.

Yes they adjusted the points and gave Bell a solo tackle but no 2 points for forced fumble. Oh well, it's better than nothing.

Guys were complaining last night about C.J. Mosley not getting credit for a forced fumble as well (although he did get credit for the recovery).

Probably the same thing... although I could also see score keepers less likely to worry about forced fumbles, etc. pertaining to offensive players.

In my MFL league Bell did get credit for the tackle. He would also get credit for a FF, except that it wasn't scored that way. Check the box scores, Bell shows up with a tackle but not a FF.

Why wouldn't an O player get credit for a tackle on a turnover? Didn't that action have value? Doesn't the O player doing something to stop the progress of a ball carrier mean just as much as a D player doing the same thing? Sounds silly to me to think it has no value in an IDP league..
