Assuming this just takes a clean out of the pipes exiting the house, but figured I'd see if anyone had any other thoughts first.
Our basement is finished, but in the laundry room/next to downstairs bath there's a 4-5" diameter drain that looks like it's in place to handle any sort of plumbing incident or flooding. I'm pretty sure it's original -- i.e. that it was here prior to the basement being finished.
You can see water at the bottom of the drain -- maybe 5-6' feed down. So it wouldn't take a whole lot of water to if there was a problem with the drainage.
Anyhow, in the last 2-3 months water has come up out of that drain three times, and spilled over into a small circle around it. Not much water and it recedes back into the drain quickly.
Any reason to think it's something other than a call to a plumber/rotorooter to have the pipe to the street cleared out? Any other advice?
