Royals offered freebies to move ‘Marlins Man’ from front-row during World Series game

...

He paid $8,000 for that primo seat and he wasn’t about to give it up. So every time the center field camera was used, which was pretty much every single pitch, the orange-clad Leavy was in the frame for the entire country to see.

It wasn’t the first time that Leavy as stuck out in a crowd.

Leavy has been buying the best seats to major sporting events for years. By his count, he’s gone to 27 Super Bowls, more than 200 NBA playoff games, and at least 85 World Series games, not to mention an unknown number of Triple Crown horse races.

He’s been a Marlins season-ticket holder since the team’s first year in 1993, is a rabid Florida State fan (he was on hand for the FSU-Notre Dame showdown in Tallahassee on Saturday before heading off to Kansas City), owns more than 100 thoroughbreds, and rarely misses a Miami Heat or Dolphins game.

“I never had any kids, nor have any wife,” Leavy said when reached by phone Wednesday. “You don’t have to pay for a wife and kids, so you have money in the bank.”

To splurge on sporting events.

...
wow.

Two seats to our left seats rapper Tech N9ne. (Only reason I know this is because he trended on Twitter for a while)

Was absolutely befuddled by Marlins Man's genius and was going to post in the WS thread but apparently he's been doing it for a while.

Was that really Tech N9ne in KC? I know there was some dude plugging his label. Holy crap. That is the label. Strange Music. Guy's more of a genius than Marlins Man.

I think he's a your run of the mill look-at-me! ### who happens to have the money to buy primo tickets.

His plan is working to perfection.

So.. I see he is back there again which leads me to wonder.. who in the hell sells their game 7 ticket behind home plate?!?!?! :loco:

If I had those seats for the Twins for a game 7 I'd have to be dead or locked up before I'd give them up.

I'd say someone in the MLB office sold them to a broker and he bough them for huge money.

"A look at me" putz.

Plain and simple.

He actually needs to get a life or get laid...or something.

Yeah that was really annoying. And he would turn all the way around for any ball fouled back so the camera would pick up his stupid Marlins_Man on the back of his jersey. I hope he got assaulted leaving the stadium.

Well, as with all people whose primary motive is to irritate others, best policy is to just ignore.. which I mostly managed to do, but the finger thing was strange, not sure what that was all about.
