In our keeper league a top level IDP player can put up WR 1/2 numbers (175-200 pts/season). We use 4 flex IDP slots so all the first IDP picks are LBs. Historically, the first defenders off the board are in rounds 9 or 10. This year I have the first pick of the draft and was considering taking Kuechly & David with my last pick in the 8th and first pick of the 9th round. I feel like this is a bit early but I know those guys won't be around for my 10th and 11th round picks. I will most likely be passing on potential keeper RBs (Terrance West, etc.) to do this so I'm a bit torn. Any thoughts?
P.S. Keeper rules are that anyone drafted outside of the first three rounds can be kept in the 5th and 4th (if you elect 2 keepers) rounds the following year.
