Draft Strategy (Dynasty with IDP) (1 Viewer)

I'm entering my first dynasty league and it's IDP. What is a solid draft strategy for this set up? Fill up my offense then move to defense?

14 person league

Unlimited positions on roster (I could have a bench full of QBs if I wanted to)

1 QB

2 RB

2 WR

1 TE

1 Flex (RB/WR/TE)

3 LB

3 DL

3 DB

1 PK

10 bench

Unless the scoring system is heavy in favor of IDPs, yes, you generally draft all offense, then IDP the last picks. You could make a case for JJ Watt though.

Since it's dynasty, ignore IDP as long as possible. Start reading the IDP articles at FBG and pick up the guys who fall through the cracks. Don't worry about getting an old guy like Daryl Smith, knowing you'll have to replace him next year... it's easy to do on the IDP side.

Use tiers, snag the last guy in some IDP tiers along the way, but mostly fill up on youngish offensive players.

Among IDP positions, leave DBs for last - they're deep and there always seems to be a new one with value.

I did a 16 team start up last yr and avoided IDP for as long as possible, I waited until my starting line up was finished and a couple of depth chart guy were in.

I grabbed a couple of Rookie LBs and did my DL / DB last. It was a pain to get IDPs during the season but its much easier to fill those spots than RB & WR
