**Official 2014 MLB Regular Season-All over but the shouting (1 Viewer)

Of the lineup you list there, CF, LF, 1B and DH are all gone after 2015.
You keep saying this like this is some sort of problem? Doesn't every team have some part of their lineup that will be free agents at some point?
The attitude in Boston is probably different with unlimited cash, but many teams when they see that their current team isn't good enough, and the players they do have are going to be leaving soon start adding players who will be there over the longer term.

2015 Red Sox lineup = probably an average ish team

2016 Red Sox lineup = Average-ish team less four key starters. if you believe in the prospects you already have, why not add to them and make this a focus?

Drew gonna play 2nd base? When was the last time the Yanks & Sox made a trade? I think Mike Stanton was involved. Or maybe Mike Stanley

Rosenthal just said the Tigers got Price, on MLB network.

ETA: No other details

Smart move by the Phillies to stand pat
you never know when it might be 2008 again. best to be cautious, stay the course.
Beat writer Matt Gelb summed up my feelings in a tweet:

The deadline was not an indictment of Ruben Amaro's inability to trade, instead another damning commentary on flawed roster he constructed.
basically, anybody they can trade will be a waiver trade for a worthless PTBNL return.
