Same rules as WSL except there are some options to steal picks.

A contestant gets five steal attempts throughout the draft. No player maybe stolen back by the player who originaly picked the player. If your player is stolen by another team you can either re-select that pick form the player pool or you have the right to steal any player that was picked after the player that was stolen from you was selected. A steal attemp may never go past one previous round. You can only make a steal going back to your last pick. You only get once chance to steal a guy. If have an opportunity to steal a guy and you pass you cannot go back and steal him with your next selection unless someone has stolen your player and you are making your makeup selection. You may never steal a pick from yourself.

Ammendment #1

~To close some loopholes, if you timeout for a pick your forfeit your right to steal that pick.

Ammendment #2

~After a player is stolen, reset the everyone's chance to steal him again to one opportunity. That way after Duckboy gets LT, everyone back to ARod would have another opportunity. If he's stolen again, then everyone gets another opportunity. Let owner's have the option to re-steal, hence no one is penalized for stealing LT early.

Also the clock will be Turned off Mar 22nd through Mar 25th due to NCAA tourney vacations.

I'm still trying to conceptualize this whole thing, so any help to finalize details would be appreciated but I think these rules should cover it.

1. Fro

2. Tex

3. renesauz

4. Rudy

5. rzrback

6. Duckboy

7. Blue-Kun

10. Jeff Pasquino

11. Reaper

12. LHUCKS

13. Aaron Rudnicki

14. Ruffrodys05

15. OldMilwaukee

16. Pictus Cat

Draft order

2. renesauz - 766

3. LHUCKS - 686

4. Reaper - 665

5. radballs - 576

8. Blue-Kun - 243

9. Tex - 238

Always up for another one, but we'd have to start quickly...going to be out of town 16th to 20th with little or no computer access :)

IN

Can't see any holes in that at this point. May pencil out some "situations" to see how they might work.

Maybe you can team up with a surrogate to help you if we don't finish before you leave. But finishing this in two weeks with the steals could take a while.

That wording seems so... confusing. I get the basic idea though.

Since it starts right away though, instead of being stuck waiting, I'll say I want in if possible. :bowtie:

Thinking about this.

Need some rules on collusion and draft talk. Obviously knowing how many times a player has been stolen and when a "round" is up will be important info.

What is the definition of a round?

The tails of the serpent will be at a disadvantage.

Let's talk LT...is he even draftable? If he's taken at 1.1, anytime he's stolen the owner losing him would have a shot at any player on the board?

Not sure I have the time to do this draft justice.

What is the definition of a round? Till your last pick

The tails of the serpent will be at a disadvantage. - They will only be able to steal with the first of their two picks but they can go back 32 picks or so. The middle guys can only go back 16. So it evens out

Let's talk LT...is he even draftable? If he's taken at 1.1, anytime he's stolen the owner losing him would have a shot at any player on the board? Yes . . . And

in

whoever starts the thread will need to be constantly updating the first post or no one will have a clue who has which player.

what were you thinking for the rules for timeouts and when does the clock turn off for weekdays and weekends?

Same rules as WSL - may have to add a stipulation about when your up unexpectedly due to a steal. Any ideas? Maybe twice your alooted time after the your a steal victim.

im just trying to think how the first round will work

wont everyone just keep stealing LT and whoever has pick 16 will end up with him?

yes but would you want to waste a steal knowing you wouldn't get to keep him?
Yup because after he's stolen I'd get my selection of anyone else on the board. This will be an interesting draft, but very time consuming to do really well. To many other commitments to hop in here.

Is there an actual downside to stealing? You just do it and if somebody decides to steal from under you... doesn't really matter because you get to pick from everyone remaining anyway. It's not like your being forced to wait till end of everyone's picks to go again or something.

:lmao: Though I'm not in, I 'm going to follow this one closely.

I'll do it if you need another.
NICE
I'm out of town from Thursday night until Sunday night. My internet access will probably be spotty at best.opening weekend of march madness...and st patty's day. hoping there won't be a whole lot of action next weekend anyway.
yea - I'm not real worried about those times. I think everyone will want to be wrawking next weekend. Wher you going? Vegas?

I may need to bow out of this. No way we'll be done before I go on my mini-trip next weekend.

It sounds like most are hoping that weekend will be slow anyway though. I'm leaving Friday evening, and returning Sunday evening.

Suspend the clock for that weekend?

I hope you and Aaron have good times that weekend. I'll be stuck here in Sacto but planning on having a few pops myself. Go with whatever start time and then just suspend it from 8 EST until Monday morning I suppose. Hopefully, Darren will host this one also or join up as well.

Still a little cloudy on the stealing. Say I get draft position #3, with my first pick, I could "steal" whoever was selected at 1.1 or 1.2. If I select a new guy at 1.3, those two are gone for me. But, when I select at 2.14, I can steal anybody taken after my pick at 1.3 up to and including 2.13. I am pretty sure that is right. But, my next pick at 3.3, only the ones chosen 2.15, 2.16, 3.1, and 3. are eligible?

Is this how it works, regardless of draft position? Will the draft recap (generally first post in thread) provide a running count of how many steals each owner had made?

Is there a maximum number of times a particular player may be stolen?

I think that this one possibly may set the time record for draft length.

YES - All these assumptions are correct.

Yes - IF it was cmpletely up to date pick for pick the first post would reflect this. I and hopefully the guys with mod powers will help me keep it up to date.

Is there a maximum number of times a particular player may be stolen? I guess 15, but that is if everyone stole the same guy. LT perhaps.

I think that this one possibly may set the time record for draft length. :bye:

But the purpose of this is to give everyone a chance at all players w/o it being an auction. That is what I'm going for.
