Confused about waiver process (1 Viewer)

Can someone explain all this "primary bid, contingent bid, bid groups" stuff?

Am I right that there is no open waiver period, ever? So, once the bids are processed, there can be no add/drops until the next week?

TIA

Player Awards:

  • The first player awarded will be the player with the highest primary bid, regardless of contingent bids.
  • Once a player has been awarded, all losing bids for that player will be cancelled.
  • If a primary bid is cancelled, the first contingent bid will become the new primary bid for that bid group.
  • After the first award and all losing and contingent bids are cancelled, the second player will be awarded to the highest remaining primary bid.
  • Again after the second player has been awarded, all losing bids for that second player will be cancelled.
  • If a primary bid is cancelled, the next highest remaining contingent bid will become the primary bid for that bid group.
  • This process repeats until all bids have been awarded or cancelled.
  • You will receive at most one player from each bid group.
  • Once a player from the bid group has been awarded to your team, all remaining contingent bids in the group will be cancelled.
  • Contingent bids in a bid group will not be considered before the primary bid has been awarded or cancelled.
  • If "Bypass primary bid and use contingent bid first if necessary." is selected any contingent bid in the group will be used if needed to win the player.
  • If a team places several bids on the same player, the highest bid will be used.
Player Drops:

  • Players will be dropped only if necessary to make room for the player being awarded.
  • Drops will be evaluated in order, considering as many potential drops as listed to make room for the waiver claim on your teams' roster.
  • If a player on your drop list has already been released, the next player down on the list will be considered for release.
  • If no drops are listed and your roster is full, you will not receive the waiver claim as there would be no room on your roster.
Huh? WTF is a "bid group"?

Previous poster quoted part of the rules BUT if you look at them there are very detailed example.

Primary bid - top guy on one list (let's say you are replacing a RB and list five RB to try and get - IN descending dollar amounts ... the first guy is the primary bid - the others are "contingent" bids - in case you don't get your first choice you will get one of your list

Each list is a bid group (very easy to see if you go practice one)

There are TWO FAAB runs each week - Wed and Fri - there are no "open" or FCFS waivers in these leagues

Again I suggest you read the rules
