Video games...what ya playing? And what are you looking forward to? (10 Viewers)

I was screwing around on the PS3 yesterday and decided to mess around a little with the Diablo 3 demo. Ended up playing it for almost two hours and I still haven't finished the thing yet. I passed on this when it launched on consoles the first time because I figured the PS4/XB1 versions would be out by now. How the hell does this still not have a release date? Yes, I know about the expansion, but the new consoles are allegedly pretty easy to port to from the PC.
I think it's more of Blizzard releases games when they are complete. They don't care about other peoples time tables and when something "should" be out, they just release stuff when they deem it up to their standards. I love/hate this because they make amazing games but they take forever to release.
Is it worth it to get Diablo3 on X360 if I'm not planning on buying a next-gen console anytime soon?

Let me preface stating that I really loved the original Diablo and love RPG games like Skyrim, Fallout series, Elder Scrolls, etc...

Diablo II LoD is my favorite game of all time and I waited on Diablo III because I dont have a nice enough computer for it. The console version is great game that actually functions well for that type of game surprisingly. Some of the decision they made about the game I would not have made but it is more casual friendly I would say. I have played it solo and coop and liked it both ways but of course the coop is better. You can catch the game on sale sometimes for $25 but and it is well worth it if your into the diablo style of game.

BL2 never really grabbed me either. But I had a problem with the way they did the motion in that game, it gave me actual headaches so I couldn't play for any long stretches.
Now that is a fair complaint. Didn't happen to me but some games just do that and you can't enjoy the game if that is going on.

There are significant differences between the PC version of this game and the console version. I would bet that they are not porting the PC version over to XBox One and PS4.

Regardless, I want it now.

Edit: In all seriousness, they released the PS360 ports over six months ago, and by all accounts the PS4/XB1 have much easier architectures to work with. This has to be an easy port as far as ports go.

Diablo 3 was a big reason why I ended up being an early PS4 adopter... I thought it would have been out by now. :wall:

So in talking with someone else about BL2 it has come to my attention that I went into a real hard area way earlier than I should have. Simply didn't have what I needed to do it. So it was a real drag and frustrating to a degree. That probably colored my perception of the SP aspect of the game. I am going to restart, maybe choose another class and avoid getting in over my head so soon. Not right away as I am still very into FO3 but I will go back and give it a fresh try.

I couldn't play that game offline if you paid me but if you're gonna re-roll, I can't recommend the berserker enough. Once upgraded, you're a duel welding full auto maniac with unlimited ammo.

I think that balancing classes is one of the things they did very well with BL2. It is tough to say which would be best, I think Zero is the weakest character in co-op but his stealth ability is :moneybag: when it comes to getting your ### out of trouble in SP.

From my experience Siren probably has the most nuance when working her skill tree but if you work it right she is a serious force to be reckoned with. Commando is probably the most balanced fighter (plus being able to drop a turret is a huge assist during combat because it draws fire and dishes out damage). I did play the Mechromancer too and she brings a lot to the table being able to call up Deathtrap for help in combat, and if you go with Anarchy stacks she dishes more gun damage than any character (although she burns through ammo too).

I never did a Gunzerker play though so I can't speak to it, for some reason the character didn't interest me, although his back story is pretty darn funny.

I never liked how Borderlands balanced multiplayer by simply scaling up the mob health. Its not any more difficult and is actually less fun to have to unload 10x as much ammo into mobs simply because I wanna play with friends.

You would lose that bet, at least for the PS4.They have announced everything but the actual release date. They even have some PS4 game play video samples that have been available since late last year.

Yeah I have seen some game play with Siren and it looked like a cool skill set. I was thinking I might try Commando next go.

Most games either throw more enemies or stronger enemies at you as you level/power up and adding members to your party is the equivalent to powering up in a big way. What would suggest as an alternative? because if they sent the exact same guys that I wiped out in SP at me in co-op it would be kind of boring.

Hey, just keep it in your pants there big fella, K?

So I am about to DL Dragonborn and Dawnstar (as well as Hearthfire a I bought the bundle for 20 bucks) for Skyrim.

How did everyone enjoy these expansion packs? And did anyone go Vampire?

Lego hobbit coming on friday. Might have to pick that up for my son for easter despite him never watching the movies (too young). But he loves lego games (hes a big lego batman, lego marvel, and lego star wars fan)

I've only double-dipped on two games in my entire life: GTA3 (PC and PS2) and Resident Evil 4 (PS2 and PS3). TLOU will definitely be joining that list assuming it's gotten a solid upgrade. I'm also holding out hope for an Uncharted trilogy similar to what Sony did with God of War last gen.

Haha I double dipped on RE4 (PS3 & Wii). The game was amazing on the Wii due to the controller.

Point taken. In fairness, though, it's allegedly packaged with all the DLC. If you like the MP at all and/or haven't played the SP DLC yet, that makes it a decent deal.
I never played the original, so I'm really jazzed about this.

I enjoyed the stories in both Dragonborn and Dawnguard. Dragonborn opened up a new world to explore which was pretty fun. The quests and side quests in both DLCs are worth the price. They add value to a game that was already awesome.

Hearthfire is alright if you enjoy building/furnishing your own house. Since I'm a giant dork, I did find it entertaining to completely build my three houses.

I think that I only went vampire to complete an achievement before reloading. I never really played around too much with werewolf/vampire.

The three DLCs are worth the $20. Have fun!

Don't care for rbi baseball at all. I get not wanting some deep complicated game, but they took it a bit too far the other way. Only 4 pitchers, no stats kept, boring to look at...the idea to do it was fine but they could have added to it. Who doesn't like their stats kept?

RBI Baseball 14 launched on the xbox 360 today I believe, should be fun.
Tomorrow.
My bad, weird because they usually release content on tuesdays..
Arcade is always Wednesday, iirc. Just downloaded this (it's $19.99) - won't get to play until tonight.
Downloaded the trial. Two words:

meh
I think that's one word?

Meh twice then.

Wanted to like this, but it's not fun for one player. They really phoned this in. It's probably ok for a quick couch co-op game, but that's about it.

Yea - it's almost like they purposefully made it dull to appeal to the casual crowd, which is fine but they went to far. It's a horrifically bland and BORING game. ( yes baseball too, but I 'm talking about this game =p )

They somehow managed to make a game in 2014 on the 360/PS3 that's unequivocally worse then a game made in the mid 1980s. That's 80s with a capital 8!

They should be caned in public for having the audacity to charge $20.

and this is why i went ps4. i would be too tempted to buy my games again on xbox360. since i didn't have a ps3, this is gravy for me!

Yea I really don't get what they were aiming for here. Why only 4 pitchers? Why not count stats? None of that stuff is ultra hard core and none of it would turn any casual gamers off.

Very bizarre. I've played 2 games and doubt I can sit through much more of it.
