WR Josh Gordon, KC (10 Viewers)

As long as he's not back in Cleveland, Oakland, or Buffalo, I'd say its win win for everyone.
The Raiders would likely give up the highest pick for him.
No they wouldn't. Al Davis doesn't live here anymore.

McKenzie has made a point of avoiding character concerns, and has really only brought in good locker room guys and gym rats. The Browns this past year make a great example of what McKenzie is trying to avoid by doing this, and trading a pick, let alone a high one, for such an obvious dips**t is so out of character for this team that I really can't believe they would even have internal discussions about him.

They desperately need a WR, that much is true. And if they traded for Gordon, and he got suspended again, they would STILL desperately need a WR.

Obviously I can't say for sure, just my opinion, but nothing in the actions of the current front office suggest this is a possibility.
We're talking a 5th round pick here - if his character is so bad when he gets there then cut him.

Indy or NE would be PERFECT!
Why not Indy? Great locker room chemistry, great team organizational culture, young QB with great habits, Reggie Wayne to mentor, a stable of hard working talented young WRs that he could blend in with, it won't all be on him.

And Indy could very well possibly draft a WR anyway, here they would get a 1st round talent for a 5th round (or so) pick.

Only problem is Cleveland burned Indy on a prior trade with TR so they may be just a wee tad bit gunshy.

Indy would be unbelievable. Hilton, Gordon and Moncrief would make any RB pretty successful. Luck would throw at will.

He'd look great in Green and Gold. Chances of that happening are 1%
Could you imagine him on the Broncos?

It'd be the Last Temptation of Christ.
More like The Last Hurrah of Peyton.
My gosh, one full year of him in that offense in perceivably Peyton's last year in the league would be incredible. DT, Gordon, Sanders, and a healthy Julius, wow.

And VERY cost effective as well. Would be a very smart move for a team who's window is as wide as the rest of Peytons career, which is probably 1-2 years tops.

If you own Gordon, you gotta root for Indy or New England.

Not enough balls to go around. Besides... Gordon living in Colorado? He wouldn't even make it to his workout and he'd be suspended.

:lmao:

Didn't even cross my mind. Yeah, he'd surely push the new testing limits in a target rich environment like Denver.

I get the joke and all, but its just as easy to get some weed here in cleveland as it is in colorado. Maybe even easier cause you can get them to come to you.

W.O.W, awesome.

Either way, it's just as easy
Is it just as legal in Cleveland? Never mind, I know the answer to that one. :)

I know it doesn't truly apply to Flash (in the pan) Gordon as an NFL employee, but I figure he's already proven to be dumb enough to think that rules don't apply to him anyway.

Put me firmly in the camp that this will end badly even if he gets sent to the best situation. People around him (coaches, friends, agents) continue to coddle his every move. Everyone is blinded by the talent and they don't see the troubled kid who is a wreck. He learned nothing from the long suspension (and was fighting it every step of the way). He will learn nothing from getting cut by Cleveland as more GMs will come throwing money his way. But at some point, the talent isn't enough to overlook all his bad habits (on and off the field). He was lost out on the field this season running countless bad routes. He sunk Hoyer as a QB who looked pretty damn good while Gordon wasn't playing. This to me isn't about his marijuana usage. I don't care about that at all, but I do care when he is so obsessed about that part of his life that he gets a giant body tattoo featuring his number and the ganja. I do care when he has 10+ weeks to study the playbook and knows none of it. I do care when he refused to take the punishment handed down and looked for every loophole to try and get back on the field. Until I see a non-coddled Josh Gordon really caring about being a great football player, I will remain as someone who doubts he is still in the game in a few years.

Its almost amazing how the value of Gordon has went from nothing to off the charts, and now back to buyer beware..

Id almost venture to say hes currently at a hold and/or don't try to acquire type position.

Several new Coachs in the NFL for different teams, would most likely result in one Coach, getting onboard. (ie. Jets)

However the mentality will be "Win now" as opposed to honing the trade/ developing as a player..

fwiw Im back on board IF Gordon lands w/ a team like Pittsburg.

Pitt has both dealt w/ questionable actions, and developed WR's..

Overall, Cleveland doesn't usually have much good to say about any of their players (imho), but I would still like to see Gordon stay.

Im not sure the pieces are ready to fall into place, but they seem to possess "cornerstone players" too..

He sunk Hoyer as a QB who looked pretty damn good while Gordon wasn't playing.
I generally dont like to just pick out one comment from a long post, but really???
How about " We knew who Clevelands QB was prior to talk of Gordon playing"

Gordon wanted/liked "Johnny Football", and Im sure it may have caused some tension in the ranks.

IF we can all agree that Gordon is talented than it makes sense to believe Hoyer would look to throw to Gordon..

Gordon supposedly ran the wrong routes at times etc.

Im pretty sure Hoyer was given direction that countered previous direction by nearly every Coach in Cleveland.

btw No Im not hopping too see Hoyer play in Cleveland, I plan to enjoy reading about Manziel...

p.s. I was actually a fan of Flutie. He finally payed his dues in CFL, and enjoyed an NFL career. All my Best, if your a Manziel Fan

Mazniel is horrendous, always was. Worst pick ever. Made me wanna go over to my neighbor's house, ring his doorbell, and just randomly punch him then walk away.

This is exactly where I am at and why I traded him. I was thinking/ hoping he would use the 10 game suspension as a learning tool and prioritize things accordingly so he wouldn't end up in that situation or worse in the future. After the team has stuck by him the whole suspension to only get suspended by the team 4 weeks after he returns from suspension is bad news. This guy doesn't get it and he will get another chance somewhere else but he's not going to change his stripes and will likely end up in the same place soon enough. He's making bad decision after bad decision and with one his rope gets shorter. It's a shame because he's a hell of a player.

IMO, it's another case of ego / immaturity getting in the way of winning football. If he wanted, he could be a force in the NFL. However, that takes commitment and dedication. The league is so talent-laden that talent alone is insufficient. Trotting onto the field without prior study and practice will result in a loss. This makes him a L-O-S-E-R, and makes the franchise that puts him out there losers, too.

Exactly. Some guys can accept leaving the glory BMOC days behind them, and some simply cannot (will not) and it drags them down and out of the NFL.

It is simply a level of maturity. Look at how Russell Wilson or Andrew Luck conduct themselves, accepting the FACT that the QB has to be a leader (willingly or not) and then look at a Manziel or Kaepernick... the knucklehead act gets old real fast around veteran players that take their careers seriously. Gordon needs to focus less on his posse and back tattoos and open up the playbook.

Credibility is like virginity, once you lose it, it is gone forever.

Gordon was never BMOC. Given his behavior during his entire football I don't think the game means anything to him at all besides a paycheck.

Paging Johnny Manziel please pick up the white courtesy phone. Browns have 2 I don't care losers on their team. Most people would climbing over to get into this type of position but these 2 think it's a given to them. Manziel and Gordon will be after thoughts very soon if they don't figure it out. Hey Johnny start by losing the "show me the money" shtick, people hate seeing this and it makes you look bad. Kaepernick is also in this same class of give me and no work ethic.

Seattle has a good locker room. Maybe they can take another swing on a talented player, this one would be much cheaper than Harvin, so if he busts it won't hurt as much.

He is still very young and let's not act like Cleveand is some stable franchise with leaders running things. Other than the fantastic trade of Trent Richardson to an addict what exactly is stable there? The GM is probably leaving and the owner says conflicting things.

Gordon did very well at the car dealer by all accounts and hasn't failed a test. While he's a jackass he's 23 and not failing tests. I think he wants out of Cleveland more than they want to get rid of him. They probably demonstrated they only wanted him back clean to trade him and he checked out.

While he could easily fail I'm not putting it all on him.

I doubt they trade him. But if they do, they will not get much. More likely to be cut than traded if he leaves the Browns in 2015 imo.

Said it before - Kansas City Chiefs make most sense to me.

For the Chiefs I guess it makes sense, but for Gordon and fantasy owners I think this would be a disaster.

I feel very good about this team. The most important position on the field withstanding. Gilbert and Manziel get the focus from the masses, but they did some great things last offseason outside of that one day. An important day to be fair. Did come out of that day with an extra one and four though.

Right. Don't let fantasy cloud logic.

And no way in heaven the Colts go after him.

This is the thing people forget, it can not get any worse for Gordon as a team situation.

He smokes weed, just like a lot of players. Bell and Blount got popped, no one is crying they are a wreck. Do you think Bell is not gonna smoke again this offseason? Please, people like weed, even football players. They already fixed the policy because weed is slowing becoming not that big of a deal.

He showed up late like many other players on the team because of a party, the leader of the team, tossed for everyone. Why is it people hold athletes who play a barbaric game to such high standards?

Talent is all that matters in the NFL. Only problem with Gordon is if he gets popped for weed again. Teams are hoping he gets cut by the Browns, if you dont believe that, I dont know what to tell you. His talent is worth the risk of getting popped for weed.

I think you may be holding your binoculars backwards. His inability to play by the rules of his employer has all but guaranteed to cost him millions of dollars. His value as an NFL WR has never been lower. There are no anxious trade partners, no long term contracts, no endorsements, no face time, nothing. Nobody cares about a 1-season wonder in a career as short as they are in the NFL.

Right now, his train wreck potential is the only thing interesting about him. Nobody is waxing poetic about that magical 2-game run in 2013 anymore.

Badly. They depended on a bonehead to be their lead receiver. He finally showed up, after the team supported him, and was out of shape, and ran the wrong routes.

But I heard he didn't get in any trouble for the two months he worked at a CAR DEALERSHIP.

No one wants a talented WRs with issues like Moss, Chad, TO and so on they never get chance after chance. He came back after missing 10 games and had bad QB play and had two good games of five and people say his value is low. OK thats your choice. Maybe that is why some people in fantasy and real teams win more often than others, they see value where others dont.

As far as his play, how was his play when he was the leagues leading WR just one year ago? Could someone post his stats from that 14 game season, I forget.

I don't think he would be much cheaper than Harvin. Even though I wouldn't pursue him, there will be several GMs ready to gamble on his talent and his talent is top shelf. I expect it would take a first round pick to get him at the least.

No way a 1st. . A 3rd at best and even then I am reaching. With Harvin though I believe it was 3 picks and a massive contract. Gordon isn't getting a massive contract.

It is important to me that he not be able to play until he gets his life in order. My kids and I will feel better about him being our role model. We want to worship someone with great work ethic. Because we care.

You miss Soulfly don't you... You could private message him! Maybe set up a fantasy picnic with cheese and crackers!

Right on schedule. Probably your best work since The Mask. Order has been restored.
