RB to Exploit-Avoid Week 5 (1 Viewer)

Still down on Beanie? What more does he have to prove?90 and a TD93 and a TD138 and 3 TDsThe guy is a freaking locomotive.
This is true, but I would tread lightly on the Beanie train. One issue is his conditioning practices: he fails in hydrating properly and taking in enough electrolytes. Trainers are often on him about it, thus the hammy issues. If he doesn't change, I expect more cramps and strain injuries. Secondly, the Cards are about to move towards a no huddle offense. What will that do to his value? His pass catching skills aren't the best, so maybe he is out on pass plays? I'm just throwing that out for discussion, but points 1& 2 are not speculation.

Mop, you and I havent seen eye to eye on the Saints backfield in the past but this time you are spot on. I agree with every word of it.

One place I think you are missing the boat: Jstew. The saints are likely gonna be up, pretty big. They'll be coming from behind. and cam will be chucking the ball a lot. When he does this he often checks down to Jstew when the pass rush is there. True not a lot of backs have run off tackle against this saints d very much, but forte torched their LB's for 10 receptions for over 100 yards in receiving. Why isn't it likely that Jstew will do the same?

I see dodds has him projected for 3 catches for 27 yards. I'd almost bet a few digits (as in fingers or toes) that absent injury Jstew gets at least 5 catches and 50 yards in the air (though I actually think it's more like 8 for 100- but then I wouldn't be betting appendages)

And while I'm not counting on him for any td action. As the back who is usually in the GL package that cam usually takes over, with a fast/tough interior Defense like the saints have, it wouldn't suprise me at all to see the panthers go with an option style package in the GL, but actually pitch it out/throw it to the backside when it looks like a designed Cam run, since everybody knows that.

I'm on the fence but leaning toward starting Jstew at RB over 'the burner" vs a tough GB run d that isn't tough at all vs the pass.

<div><br></div><div>ETA after thinking about the fact that ATL could be down early to GB this isn't a lean anymore.  Starting Jstew over Turner.</div>

wells said this was the first time he had ever hurt his hamstring. he has never missed a game from a muscle strain in nfl or college until this injury.

Keep in mind the weather could come into play big time in the Cincy/Jax game. It could be a repeat of Carolina/Jax game.
Good info, I'm gonna try to revisit tomorrow and update some of the situations. Looks like Beanie is Questonable now.
It is a full on monsoon here. Could be at much as 8 inches of rain in the 24 hours before kick off. I'm sure there will be a thread about it in the morning.

Monsoon down here in Miami too. Benson and MJD to the rescue...poor Gabbert

Not to nitpick, but this isn't necessarily the case, though it could be due to the inexperience of the qbs in jax/cin. Bad weather can actually be very helpful to offenses and qbs. rather than bury this hereI'll just start a thread.

It's not nitpicky at all Hipple. Problem is you have 2 inexperienced QBs. If it were Dan Marino and Brett Favre, I would say sure no problem but the 2 rookies are going to struggle and Cinci has a chance to emerge 3-2 and actually be relevant into the middle of the season, incredible.

I don't know if my other post was deleted by you or the big dogs, but there are alot of guys that would love your "RBs for Exploit/Aviod" to come back out of retirement.

From talking with him I believe a lot would have to change. He doesn't get paid for the weekly thread and gets it torn apart by people attempting to get their jollies in life off of a message board. How would you feel if you were him?

:wall:

One of my favorite weekly threads. The egg head FF nerds ruined it with their anger that one of their players wasn't hyped.

Hi everyone,

My apologies but I had 2 events in the last week to 10 days that really made me pause for some reflection. The first was a car accident involving my wife where she was parked at a red light on her way to work and some guy fell asleep at the wheel behind her and hit her from behind. My wife never saw it coming and got a pretty good case of whiplash. She is going to be OK but I have been driving her around most places the past week or so.

The 2nd event was pretty disturbing. We lost a friend from HS who decided to end his life. It's the 3rd person from my graduating class in the last 12 months to take their life. I knew this man better than the previous 2 so it hit me a lot harder and it made me pause and think about things. He was by all accounts a healthy person who was gainfully employed, had a long time g/f, no kids, rode motorcycles, we are just shocked that he would want to take his life. It was very sad because he sent out an email/post to all of us and you start reading it and by the end of the 1st few sentences you quickly knew this was a final statement.

I hope you'll forgive me and understand why I have been noticeably absent. We have had posters with worse scenarios the last couple weeks and I really didn't want to take anything away form their situations so I steered clear of the FFA. I have posted here and there in some threads but I just haven't had the time to do what I want for the weekly thread I like to post up. It is really time consuming.

Separate issues...

I read the other thread and I saw that Just Cuz was brought up. I actually liked his posts but what you all did not see is that he was using the PM function to attack folks especially mods such as Aaron. If I had been in Aaron's shoes I would have banned the guy months ago. I'm sure he will find his way back to the boards under an alias of some kind.

Secondly, I agree that the boards have changed a lot but let's be honest, it's been almost a decade and people change. Posters that were in college originally are now married with kids and a big mortgage, probably don't have the time to check in and post like they used to do. It is what it is and the only thing we can do is try and post interesting topics that make folks want to engage and post. There is too much putting down of other folks opinions but the report function is there and can be used if you need it. I wouldn't abuse it but occasionally we get some folks who lose their minds momentarily...I have done that myself a few times.

I don't know when I will have the next thread up but hopefully soon. I appreciate the kind words everyone.

-MOP

great reply . . . we should all remember that this is just fantasy football - your post puts things in perspective . . .i hope your wife gets better soon . . .thank you . . .

Damn MOP. First things first--hope everything works out on the home front as well as possible.

Been there myself and there's no real answers; just try to keep yourself in balance and your family safe.

Hang in there MOP and glad your wife is doing better!

Hope all is well with you and yours ... homefront first and foremost

And I am one who misses your weekly RB posts ... looked forward to them, for sure. Hope to see them back once you are up to it.

Hope your wife gets well soon.

You never know what is going on with friends. My best friend died from a heroin overdose a few years ago. Considering I never saw him do more than weed at parties or concerts it came as a shock getting that call, just don't blame yourself.
