*NBA THREAD* Abe will be missed (1 Viewer)

I am only going to believe the Bucks stay in Milwaukee if/when the ground is broken for a new stadium. Until that happens, we should all assume the Bucks are going to be moving. Right now, that press conference was what people wanted to hear. I could see a Baltimore Colts thing happening.
No chance. The Seattle group would have gladly paid more.
A move to Seattle is still in play.

Clippers, OKC, Memphis opposite side of the draw for Spurs. Couldn't have drawn it up better.
They did well to avoid LA & OKC.

But getting Houston (0-4 against them this season) Round 2 isn't a good thing either.

They'd better hope Portland somehow wins that 1st round series. (IMO They match up much better with them). And much better likelihood of Lillard shooting away any potential shot of Portland winning against SA.

The Milwaukee arena deal would have to completely fall apart first. That won't be known for at least a year. The Bucks' new owners are hedge fund managers so they're not averse to flipping distressed assets but if they turn around and sell to the Hansen-Ballmer group for a quick profit, they're likely to get blackballed from future pro sports investments.

Indy > Atl in 6

Mia > Cha in 5

Tor > Bkn in 7

Chi > Was in 6

SA > Dal in 5

OKC > Mem in 5

LAC > GS in 6

Hou > Por in 6

Don't really see any upsets. If I had to pick, Atlanta in the east and Portland in the west.

My guess is that Toronto over Brooklyn will technically be an upset, at least according to Vegas. At least I hope the Raptors get underdog odds, because I'm betting them if they do.

Speaking of- anyone who isn't blocked from gambling sites at work care to post the series prices? Wasn't up at the site I use this AM, curious to have a look.

Can't find series odds. Not up yet maybe? Toronto opened @ -3.5 for Saturday. Gotta think that is near line for every game with the home team being favoured.

I don't see any up right now, but Brooklyn is 9:1 to win the East and Toronto is 20:1, if that's an indication. Heat are 2/3 to win the East which seems a tad low now that they could potentially see Brooklyn in the second round.

Really sucks that the Horncats get rewarded for a great season by a first round #####-slap from Miami. Another fun OT win last night. First game I've been too where the scalpers were actually trying to buy tickets.

Congrats to the Raptors Cliff and to Tobias and others for the Wizards. I have a ton of respect for the longtime posters in a thread like this that stick by their team however bad it gets or has always been. My time is coming to be on the other side of the fence before too long. Spurs fan.

Amazing the Warriors went from years of futility pre-Jackson (1 playoff appearance in 17 years prior), become the talk of the league under him & now already likely out.

Gracias.

Nice Grantland bit capturing the mentality of the Wiz fan right now.

Not much to look forward to as a Nuggets fan for the near future, as they are above the through next year and have a ####ty team. But, Kenneth Faried really showed something in the second half of the season. From the All Star Game, he averaged 18.8 points and 10.1 rebounds with a .584 TS% (and 70% from the line!). If his improvements hold into next season, the Nuggies might just be able to sneak into the playoffs next year to get swept in four games. Long live Brian Shaw.

He's not a good coach, and there's obviously a lot of tension between him and the rest of his coaching staff, in addition to the front office.

Ha thats a really good read thanks.

Excellent piece. As a Padre and Charger fan I can definitely relate to that last part regarding why it's better/more fun to be an optimist.

He's a good chemistry coach...terrible with the X/Os on offense. Don't give him much credit for the defense that Malone installed.

a couple of people were asking so yes the truth is that the old swcer is happy that herby sold the bucks he just did not know how to get it done and hopefully they will have a nomber 1 pick coming up here and can really turn it around a couple of nights ago i was watching and told my buddies when they showed the bench hey looky here right here is abunch of guys that will not be playing basketball next year one of them looked a lot like the guy that picks up our trash so bam that is what the old swcer says about the bucks take that to the bank brohans

Go Spurs (1st choice) and second choice, Heat! One from the east, one from the west.
:lmao:
About 200 pages back you'll see my loves are the same as last year! And they both made it to the finals!
Oh, I'm aware. I was remembering how much fun it was last year to participate in this thread during the finals with you cheering for both teams.
Well now I can't be called a bandwagon fan, or can I? :ninja:

If Rockets make it past Portland Round 1 (and only way that happens is if Houston can't stop Aldridge between Jones and Howard), Spurs don't make it past Round 2.

I've never been one to gamble, but thinking of throwing down some cash on the Rockets at current odds.

Shopping himself to the Nets and Clips in the off season didn't endear him to management either..

:sadbanana: We'll see...

looking forward to watching my 6 teams in the playoffs: Heat, Pacers, Thunder,Spurs, Clippers, and Rockets. Hoping we can win it all this year.
:goodposting: big Heat/Pacers/Spurs/Thunder fan myself. Hard to believe I could have another team win it all after FSU, Seattle and UConn got it done, but maybe this is just my year.

It's a good thing you're a real fan with season tickets, and have supported the team and attended every game your six teams played this year.
