***Official Titanfall Xbox ONE/360 Thread*** (1 Viewer)

Footballguy
Alright guys the xbox 360 version just came out last week I believe and I know there are a bunch of us on the xbox one, so it's about time someone made a thread for the game. If you post your tag in here thread I'll add it to the list of people on each platform.

So, what your guys personal favorite setups for titans? I started out sucking royally with titans as I believe most people do(ryodan confirms this with his display of admitted terrible titan skills). Basically it just took time and I had to learn what was best for my style of play in them. I tend to play aggressively and therefore had to use the Atlas titan because it provided a nice health/dodge ratio. I use the dashes to get up in other titans faces when they don't expect it or to dodge missiles that are incoming. My favorite to shoot quad rockets at a titan until he puts up his shield and then I dash up to him with a flying punch, pop smoke, loop around to the side and fire more rockets/ordnance at him. So then he can decide to go through the smoke or challenge me. On my titans I always run with electric smoke because it works great on pilots rodeoing you if you crouch after you pop the smoke, and as described before it is a great offensive ability. Not to mention its area of effect and control when capturing many B flags or smoking our campers.

What's your favorite pilot setups? As I have progressed in the game I have tried out every weapon a little bit and primarily the SMG, Shotgun, Carbine, and LMG. I like the carbine silenced the best. I find its versatility key in my gameplay style but I can also run with he SMG/Shotgun and stay in close quarters. The weapon choice as always rests highly on what maps is being played.

What's your thoughts on the smart pistol? One thing is for sure, IMO it is easily the worst weapon in the game if you can aim even a little bit, but it does help the people that always have trouble with aiming in FPS. So, I feel it is much more balanced than I was anticipating because if you die from it you really deserve to have been dead a few seconds earlier.

The Carbine is by far the best all around weapon. You can use it in any situation and not be at too much of a disadvantage. I find that most of my kills come from midrange where it excels, and it's only a slight downgrade up close or from afar against someone with a weapon equipped specifically for that situation.

I prefer the SMG to the shotgun for gametypes/maps where most of the combat will be up close because it's also still strong at low-mid range. Getting the 75 kill challenge with the shotgun for Gen 3 was a drag, but doing it with an SMG for Gen 4 was no problem.

As far as Titans go, I find that in Attrition matches the Triple Threat + Minion Detector is a great way to rack up points. Just throw a couple shots in the direction of the minions on your radar as you run by to the next cluster, and if you use the vertical fire (hold LT) it can be pretty strong against other Titans too. Outside of that it's all 40mm or Chaingun (focus on critical hit spot) for me. Cluster Missile is the only ordinance I ever use.

Agreed on the Smart Pistol. I rarely ever use it and don't feel like it was a "cheap kill" on the rare occasion that I die from it. It takes so long to lock onto a pilot and whenever I see it on the kill cam it's from someone that had sights on me long enough that I'd have been dead long ago from another gun anyways.

My titan loadout is an Atlas with 40mm, cluster missiles, smoke.

I like the cluster missiles as you can clear out entire rooms and groups of grunts/pilots. Which is especially useful in Capture the Flag and Hardpoint.

The electric smoke is used for clearing off rodeo pilots. Usually they jump off and I run them over (dash backwards) or just boogie out of town by double-dashing away.

For my pilot, I stick with the Carbine unless I'm trying to fulfil a gen requirement. I also am loving the satchels. I don't really use a handgun ever unless I run out of primary ammo mid-fight and need to quick switch to my pistol.

Tips:

If you're rodeoing a titan, sometimes they'll crouch to make it look like the pilot is disembarking. Only to have you jump off. Make sure to not fall for this. Inversely, you can try the same trick on someon who is rodeo-ing you.

Some rodeo-ers will lay down a satchel charge in hopes you get out of your titan, only to blow you up. I've not tried it yet but supposedly you can double jump out of the blast radius and then engage the surprised attacker who then has the choice of fighting you or your auto titan.

You can severly damage the escape ship with electric smoke if that ship is one that lands kind of low.

You can call your titan really close to the escape ship letting the splash damage from your titan fall severly damage said ship. But you cannot drop right on the ship as your titan will just clip right through it.

I suck unless really drunk.

If you follow me around a board, you will get a lot of easy kills as they try to kill me.

Nice tip on how to get attrition points, never really thought of that. Laso, I have been satchel charged once the way you described it.

I mostly have played attrition, I've got a couple set ups i use for titans. My preference is strider with a quad rocket or 40mm. In space the strider can dash circles around other titans and in building it can pop out, unload a clip of rockets and then get back behind cover. Probably use the quad rockets 75% of the time with 40mm use to provide some variety or on maps with long site lines where you can snipe. I always use electric smoke, cluster missile, quick dash and auto eject on my strider. I occasionally try to use something other than auto eject but i hate getting executed in my titan. Dash core is hilarious.

My other titan setup is an ogre with triple threat, there are a few maps where there really isn't enough room for the strider to move around much and the triple threat just wrecks titans on those maps plus all the bonus splash damage you get. Early on, i used a lot of ogre with chaingun or 40mm, that was fairly safe setup i could almost always take the other titan with me if i got left alone. I haven't used the atlas much at all, I always find myself wanting the mobility of the strider or the health of the ogre.

I currently working though gen 3, any rail gun tips / load outs would be appreciated.

For pilots i'm terrible at long range so mostly optimized for close to medium range. I mostly use the SMGs and shotgun, stay in tighter spaces and cloak when i have to travel out in the open. I use satchel charges most of the time but also will use arc grenades to chuck at titans. I prefer sidewinder or mag launcher as my anti titan weapons. I find the pilots are very good at support in a titan fight and like to be able to get a few shots off quickly to help knock down shields or pick off a titan with low health that's trying to hide and lets it's shields regen.

I've been trying to learn the smart pistol lately with mixed results, I've had very good games with it and terrible games with it. I think it has been helping my overall parkour ability though. One thing I've been trying is to swap out your secondary for a better weapon when you get a chance a couple times it's been nice to switch to a carbine when i needed a little more distance in the open or power at close range. I really need to do that anytime i run more specialized weapons as a primary.

Not sure what your going for but this is a list of gamer tag on the left and FBG name on the right. Etiquette would be I guess send along a message if the person is not familiar with you saying your from FBGs, so they don't consider it spam. I know Dainty usually deletes invites unless she has a clue who it is because well she gets like 2-5 person gaming session from randoms.

I think I'm really turning the corner with regard to my enjoyment of this game. I don't have much to add in terms of tips, haven't played it enough. But that game we played the other day Madshot with Monkey and Rhettpup against those Gears pros really opened my eyes as to how wide the skill gap can be in this game. And they were completely dominating even before deploying their titans.

I realized I have really really far to go in terms of my pilot movement skills and and so I hope to be able to start playing the crap out of this game going forward. Any FBG's that want someone to play with, pls add me. I'm always looking for company.

Can you add a list of PC players? I'm probably the only one, but I'd like to know if anyone else is playing on the PC side.

XBox1 - noswad315. I haven't played a ton but have really enjoyed it so far. I think attrition might be my least favorite game mode.

What's your xbl tag I always forget if it has numbers or whatnot.

The game hxperson is talking about is as he said, myself, him, whiteMonkey and Rhettpup faced off against the complete pro team of AmazYn ala Gears of War 1, 2, and 3, who have won MLG championships. We got our asses kicked in like no bodies business playing capture the flag. We lost 0-6 in the span of maybe...5 minutes?? They were so fast, they never stopped moving and were always going 130% speed while wall running everywhere. It didn't help that our two randoms were terrible and as a team, us 4 went something like 18-30. No bad, and I was about 1 ft. away from getting a flag cap on them but had it ninja swiped from me as he took the flag in mid wall run as we dueled in a shotgun battle while bouncing off of walls. They backed out of the game after we put up a little bit of a fight and then we deemed that a moral victory.

Will do. Want me to add just your fbg name or does it have a different naming system attached to it also?

my xbone gtag is Ryodan5

Does anyone know if it's possible to arrange friends on Xbox Live by groups? It'd be nice to be able to tell which are FBG.

Been playing this a decent amount lately and really enjoying it. A couple of questions, I don't see a lot of wall running, is this normal. What's the best primary weapon for a Titan? Should you use burn cards or save them? I seem to have a lot at the moment.

Wall running is great to get places fast. Also its harder for people to hit you if you're bounding from wall to wall.

I try to use three burn card per match. Otherwise if your deck is full you will miss out on some great cards as the new ones you would have picked up are discarded.

Here is my titan loadout and why:

Atlas - a good mix of size and speed.

Chaingun - tears up other titans pretty well, and is great against grunts and pilots.

Cluster Missile - You can take out half a group of grunts and pilots with this. It's especially good for Capture the Flag and Hardpoint as you can fill the room with bombs killing everyone inside if someone tries to take over your hardpoint or grab the flag. You can also in a pinch shoot this at your feet and stand there to kill any rodeo'ing pilot.

Electric Smoke - Will kill a rodeo'ing pilot, or make them jump off. A lot of times if you pop the smoke on a pilot, they'll jump off. Immeditely dash backward once or twice and a lot of times you'll crush them. The smoke is also good for a smokescreen so you can escape if you're getting double teamed by other titans.

Most of the other options beyond these weapons are really a crap shoot. It seems everyone but the new guys are wise to the Nuclear Ejection so it's pretty rare to blow anyone up with it. So I abandoned that in favor of the one (forget the name) that buys you time to live when you're gonna blow. I like it so I can keep fighting or get the hell out of dodge.

It's a little better when you unlock instant-shot but yea, the rail gun is very meh.

ETA: The chaingun is probably the best all around titan weapon since it's good against both titans and pilots. The 40mm canon is REALLY strong against Titans (and is the only one that can kill a titan at full health without reloading) but has a lot of trouble with pilots up high. The triple threat is probably the best for attrition. Just spam it into the minions or into a window or roof where you see a pilot icon on the radar.

ETA2: Not sure how many people realize it, but a charged up arc cannon shot blinds the enemy titan a la an arc grenade. Still doesn't make it a great weapon but with the chain lightning effect it can be very annoying for the other team.

1) Have you actually unlocked them?

2) Are you sure that you're selecting your custom loadouts during the match, and not one of the default pilot loadouts (which you can't edit)?

I did this for a whole night. I was getting just absolutely pissed about it too. Then I realized I was just hitting the defaults instead of custom at the beginning of the match.

I only have the 3 original load outs. How do one customize, I don't see any options.

You have to be at, I believe, level 5 to unlock the custom Pilot loadouts. The when you go into Pilot loadouts from the menu you can customize them, and in-game you will have the option of selecting:

Rifleman

Assassin

CQB

Custom Pilot Loadout 1

Custom Pilot Loadout 2

Custom Pilot Loadout 3

Make sure you're selecting one of the custom ones in game and not Rifleman, Assassin, or CQB. Those are the default ones and are not changeable.

Perhaps you're more of a Pong guy...

Been giving this game a solid hour or two when I can. It reminds me of COD a lot (of course), but the Titans do add a unique element. I dig it.

starting to like the longbow, liking gen 4 much better then the fail-rage of gen 3 with the plasma railgun

I'm not a fan. SMG was much easier/quicker to fulfill the requirements last gen.

Then again, I've yet to come across a game that I didn't suck at sniping in.

Played a little bit yesterday. Still fun but going to the next generation has been a mistake for me. I hate playing the first 25 levels with #### setups knowing I sould be doing much better. But more important to my layoff in the game is the same problem as COD and Battlefield, as in being placed in games that are completely lopsided. Give me the ####### option to wait 20 seconds and join a fresh game. That will not increase playlists and separate the population, it would only make solo players much happier. :violin:

You level up really fast after a couple of gens. My buddy and I took down a team of 4 gen 10 50's and 2 9 50's in last titan last night. I been playing with Zeus and his crew and some other decent players. I still suck but not enough to hurt us.

So after loving destinys pve and hating destinys pvp I have come back to this game for my shooter needs(well besides gears). I have really come to appreciate the quality of this game and how smooth and balanced the gameplay is. I'm almost done with gen 3 with the God awful Titan rail gun.

They have added new game modes and 3 dlcs since I mostly played. They recently had all the dlc on sale for $5 and its a solid deal. Now they feature a regular pvp no Titan playlist and also a horde mode. The maps added are pretty good and that says something. I dont think there is a map in Titanfall that I hate, or even feel is bad. That is rare in the age of ####ty map creation and bad spawning systems.
