Office Farewell Emails - Whatcha Got? (1 Viewer)

People that make huge "good bye" emails at their place of employment are one step lower on the rung than people who make big "goodbye" posts on message boards.
Yeah, I'm not sure I get the good bye email. I do the old Irish good bye, except for the few select people I plan on keeping in touch with.

 I like goodbye emails.

Way better than "What happened to Charlie?" four months after Charlie left.

#### Charlie.
Exactly. I remember one dude who acted like he was leaving his family to go to China for 5 years. Did the email and went and spoke to everyone individually. I didn't know him that well, and I was really busy. I told him good luck, thanks for everything and went back to what I was doing. He made this comment like, you realize I'm leaving for good right? It was strange.

As some of you may know, this Friday is my last day with . The experience has been highly rewarding and challenging, on both a personal and professional level. With many of you, I have shared a unique camaraderie which I hope will continue in the years to come even though I shall not be here with the company.

Work was challenging which always provided opportunities to excel. I learned a great deal here. I sincerely thank all for helping me in different ways while I was here. I am truly leaving here with mixed feelings; happy about my new career opportunity but sad to be leaving xxxxx where I have so many wonderful friends and colleagues. I learned a great deal and worked with many people with whom I am sure I will remain friends for a long time. World is small and I do wish our paths cross in future engagements. Before I leave, I want to remind you what a pleasure it was working here

When I left The Firm, I never sent any goodbye email. But a group of coworkers, led by one eager beaver wannabe, all took me out to a fancy restaurant for a really nice lunch. The waiter offered to have a special appetizer for the table. My guess is this was a bit pricey because Mr. Wannabe's face turned white pale when the bill came.

had several recently. the best:

… You are all part of the memories, friendships and learnings I am taking with me. Today is my last day.

I have got my leave. Bid me farewell, my brothers

I bow to you all and take my departure.

Here I give back the keys of my door
---and I give up all claims to my house.
I only ask for last kind words from you.

We were neighbors for long,
but I received more than I could give.
Now the day has dawned
and the lamp that lit my dark corner is out.
A summons has come and I am ready for my journey.

hey brohans no one is sending emails around these parts but one dude went out in the parking lot and then did burnouts for a good five minutes well we all watched and it kind of ground work to a stop and he flipped us off with both hands out the window and drove away i think he shouted something like see you suckas later and we did because he goes to the bar we all go to and then he came back to work about a month later because he could not find anything else and guy was a pretty good welder and when qc says the guy can weld well it ends up the old brass up on the second floor can forget about some burn outs and a pair of a birds if you get my drift take that to the bank bromigos

I've seen two memorable ones.

 • "So long, and thanks for all the fish!"
 • "My work here is done."
Nobody's done the famous The Hobbit farewell yet, so I might have to take that path one of these days.

 • "I don't know half of you half as well as I should like; and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve."
