*IDP preseason thread* (1 Viewer)

I don't know how much of this stuff I'll get to watch, but I'd be curious to see how the pats lb line up in the first series, and ongoing through pre.

I see buffalo is back already tomorrow, so I guess more from that lb situation, and maybe also denver.

don't remember reading much on denver -- what's the word on them, anyway?

They lined up in 4-3 with Chris Jones at DE.. weird. I'm not sure if Collins suited up or not. A lot of guys out

No regular season starting LB played for NE last night. Collins and Mayo I think will both be high LB 2 or low LB 1.

I thought there might be some hidden value in the Miami LB situation but maybe not if the long ATL game first series was any indication.

Ellerbe looked very comfy in WLB role and was very aggressive vs. last year when looked tentative. Taken out on some subpackages though.

Misi in MLB but not good run fits and missed tackles although did have a sack nullified due to def holding.

Wheeler played least.

Subpackages were sometimes Misi/Ellerbe, sometimes Misi/Wheeler and sometimes Ellerbe/Wheeler so no clear every-down guy yet.

Again, just first series observations.

I am not getting to watch many either, but I am keying on Collins for NE. I was hoping to read the next day about how he played and how he's being used. Looks like he didn't make it in the game, though.

that 20 buck preseason package on the site looks like it has rewind, so maybe I can look at some stuff later on when collins gets in there, or whoever.

Sleeper Alerts:

Dan Molls in Pittsburgh was a tackle machine at Toledo. He led the nation in tackles(166) in 2012. He isn't the greatest athlete. Think of a slower Pat Angerer. He had 9 and 6 the first game. He could be a play down the road.

I'll still hold a torch for Jarvis Jones.

Randell Johnson in Buf. I want to see if he can get the Alonso snaps somehow.

Dee Milliner looked great.

Get your hands on Deone Buccanon for your dynasty teams now. He's the hardest hitter that I've seen in a while.

The cb Gratz in Jac looked physical tonight. He could be one that gets a chance at a few tackles.

Sean Spence looks like he may be healthy. Shazier limits his snaps, but he'd make a serviceable play if Shazier goes down for any length of time. Also gives them the option to go to 4-3 looks or a 3 LB nickel package.

Maybe not much fantasy impact on an IDP basis, but his health is huge for Pitt D.

Already did in a rookie draft, hope he doesn't hit himself to IR.

When did Telvin Smith appear on the field? 1st/2nd/3rd stringers?
I was looking for him, but couldn't find him. I know for sure he wasn't running with the 1's
It is generally hard to find him. Even at FSU, whenever he was not able to sprint past a blocker he often got swallowed up and washed out of the play. Kid needs to get stronger IMHO. Just my $0.02.

I am trying to figure out if Brock Coyle has a brighter future than Audie Cole? Tying to find a way to squeeze Coyle on to my roster.

I've been trying to keep an eye on safeties in this gb/stl game.

I noticed on one play where cook caught a ball they had dix on him with burnett as a single high safety.

there was a 2nd and 1 for gb where mcdonald was up as a lb, but was generally in more of a cover 2 look.

I think micah hyde was back for a punt return.

Yes he was after Adams muffed 2 punts last week. They had Dix, Burnett and Hyde on the field most plays the 1st quarter.
