Last season, cracker had some IDP dynasty rankings up. I appreciated them when I drafted a Zealots team. The new Zealots syndicate is starting to fill up and could start drafting before too terribly long.So... can we get some IDP dynasty ranking lists going? helix - at first blush the one that jumps out at me as too high is Dan Morgan. His concussions are getting pretty close to sending him to the Merrill Hoge school of TV commentary. I've actually seen mocks with the Panthers drafting a MLB in the 1st or 2nd.Otherwise, a pretty good list. I need to make my own and get them up here. Got the Masters League Draft to prepare for!

I'd be interested in seeing a list from Cracker and Bob Magaw. Either of you have the time?

Helix - I think Spikes is way too high on your list; I wouldn't have Foley on it at all; I think Peterson should be considerably lower and Barnett considerably higher; I'd also be tempted to make Edwards #1; there are too many questions about June to rank him so highly and in any case his performance wasn't anything special; Danny Clark needs to be in there somewhere; is Zach Thomas a deliberate omission; Lance Briggs has to be in there somewhere too.

My logiceterson: He is a great MLB and is in his prime (28). A dynasty owner will get 4 excellent seasons out of Mike. Spikes: Similar to Peterson, in his prime (28) and solid.Barnett: He did not look good this year and may be moved from MLB. Risk=Drop in ranking. CJune: Was inconsistent, but he is young and has long term upside at the WLB spot in Dungy's D.Foley: I have him at 18. Is he better than guys like Briggs or Clark? I think so, but those players are right in this neighborhood. Thomas: Omitted him on purpose. If you look at value over the next 4 years, Zack falls way off. Age, health and team are major concerns. At 32 he is showing signs of a long football career. Also, there are rumors that Miami releases him to get under the cap. That said, I would draft him fairly high if I had a core group of young guys. He probably has 1 good year in the tank. Edwards: Great player but is 32 and will likely be winding down. If this were a redraft ranking he would be in the top 3.As for DMorgan: When he plays he is a top 5 guy. At 26 he is in his prime. I'll take the health risk. Just no more concusions please. There is not a MLB in this draft even close to Morgan-

Just a couple comments (from Helix's list):LB1. KBulluck - I like the guy, but not as the #1 LB3. RLewis - my personal #15. DMorgan - already said, when he plays, he's a stud.6. DEdwards - the usual "old production vs. young potential" - sounds right here10. APierce - I'm not a big fan, but he did produce11. JVilma - a bit low IMO, top 7DBGood overallDon't get me wrong, I like Dunta, but I'm not taking any CB in the top 10 if I don't need one.DLNot bad, but I'll take Strahan way ahead of #16. Odd that Strahan #16, but Rodney is #4 - just due to this year's injury, I assume, but I'll put both as top 5 for their position even in dynasty, #1 or 2 in redraft.

Tick, Im not sure whne Edwards was born, but i am sure it wasnt 1980. edited to add Derek Smith was not born in 1982.Im not sure if the rest are correct, these are just a couple that are far enough off that i noticed.

Okay, fixed it. Some names didn't match up between MFL and the NFL, like Mike instead of Michael. Also, abbreviations for teams were different... GBP vs. GRE, JAX vs. JAC.

Not sure why you dropped the DTs, but K.Williams was #2 overall DL. J.Henderson and R.Coleman finished just outside the top 10, ahead of Freeney.

Love what you're doing here Tick, but is it a good idea to ignore CBs when considering defensive backs (or DTs when looking at defensive linemen)? There are a few guys worth drafting. I semi-ignored cornerbacks last year and missed out on some good performers. Actually the only cornerbacks I drafted were at the end of the draft when I didn't know the names of anyone left on the defensive side. It wasn't the best year to draft Titan CBs.

Wilson finished 38th in Zealots scoring because he missed the last 7 games. He's on my spreadsheet, but I didn't paste the whole spreadsheet here.Sorry about the CBs and DTs - I'm just starting my preparation for a startup draft and haven't looked at them yet. I'll throw them in here once I do.

no.. i was talking about helix's list.. Ulracher was hurt a lot last year but still put up 10.3 a game in Zealots scoring. The top guy only put up .6 more and Ulracher is a lot younger.. I think he should be number one on the list for dynasty.

Rumors are that the Ravens are switching to 4-3 next season, with Suggs at DE. That might be the reason for his listing - just speculation, though.

The new DC (Rex Ryan) plans on implementing the 4-3 in Baltimore. This translates into Suggs being moved from OLB to DE. Here's the mini scoop...link:http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/columns/stor..._len&id=1971493Pretty good evidence that the Baltimore Ravens will switch to a 4-3 defensive front under new coordinator Rex Ryan: Star pass rusher Terrell Suggs, who played strong-side linebacker in the 3-4 scheme, has already been told he'll be playing with his hand on the ground, at defensive end, in 2005. Suggs, who recorded 22½ sacks in his first two NFL seasons, is excited about the change. Ryan also feels the move back to the 4-3 will be a good one for linebacker Ray Lewis, protect him more, and allow him to flow to the football from sideline to sideline.

Thanks for the scoop. That's one area in which I need to improve. I don't know individual team's defensive schemes and how that might impact IDP scoring.

Guilty as charged. Briggs had a monster '04 (both with and without Urlacher in the lineup). He should be solid again in '05. With that being said, I think you'll be hard-pressed to find an owner in your dynasty league who would trade Z. Thomas, Morgan, Barnett, Fletcher, or Sharper (my #13-17 ranked LB's) straight-up for Briggs. I could be very well be wrong.

I realize this was last years Top 30 scorers edited for some Injured players, but where would Pitt LB K Bell fall on the list? I have him moderately high (low 20's) as he's had plenty of time to rehab and still young.I'd like to see where / if he makes the rankings (dynasty IDP). FWIW: I have J Peppers & Andra Davis as my anchors, but was in need of LB#2 and need to decide between Bell & Joey Porter.

I think you'll be hard-pressed to find an owner in your dynasty league who would trade Z. Thomas, Morgan, Barnett, Fletcher, or Sharper (my #13-17 ranked LB's) straight-up for Briggs. I could be very well be wrong.

I would definetly trade Thomas and Morgan for Briggs, and since we are talking dynasty, i would probably also trade Sharper and Fletcher for him. Barnett is the only guy i probably wouldnt trade for Briggs, but even that is close.

Why isn't Witherspoon higher? LB11 last season, came on strong in the second half, and was born in 1980.In his first three years, he has (tackles + assists):56+1674+2585+18Looks like a guy to target on paper... what am I missing? Something having to do with Morgan?

One thing to remember about Briggs is the Chicago D were just pounded on this season... the Bears had such a terrible offense that other teams would get a lead and just pound it on them, with predictably huge tackle numbers. If the Bears have a better offense, Briggs is unlikely to have such big numbers.

Come, come, Rex Grossman looked pretty promising before he got hurt last year and whichever rookie WR they take in the 1st is going to be more impressive than Bobby Wade. If you recall Ron Turner's previous stint with the Bears about a decade ago you'll remember that his offenses put up big numbers despite not having the greatest talent - eg Erik Kramer at QB.

This seems to be the common opinion about Grossman, but it confuses the hell out of me. Admittedly, I only watched one of the 3 games Grossman played this year (vs. Green Bay), and he was boring but efficient - it was Thomas Jones that really killed the Packers.But look at Grossman's numbers on the injury-shortened season:3 games, 1-2 record, 607 yards, 1TD, 3INT, 2 Fumbles.And that was against 3 VERY questionable defenses (DET, GB, MIN).That's not very good, is it? For some reason, Yahoo!'s player searches don't seem to include players placed on the injured reserve for the year. They have Grossman but you have to navigate to the Bears' roster to find him.
