The TE poll closed a long time ago, but now that we're moving towards "the best of the rest" in the other positions, I figured we'd get this one rolling as well.

The top 33:

I will add their ranking - 1 point for the #1 (actually #34), 10 for the #10, 11 points for those left off a list. IOW - if 5 of us put Bennie Joppru (just an example) as the #1, but 1 leaves him off, Joppru gets 16 points.

Yea well the list is down to players that may get 2-4 cathes all seasonMangum for Carolina is older but he will put up top 30#'s. Would i pick him before the other guys? No,i would have to take a gamble

One guy IMO that should be in the mid 20's is Flether for the Colts. He is in the same area of Hilton IMO

 
rivers, kris wilson, and a real deep sleeper is Billy Bajema. He just finished his rookie season. Very intelligent guy who is off to med school after football. BTW, is a niner in case anyone did not know. He started in Johnson's absence. I believe Johnson might be a guy who is perpetually injured. The niners signed, then cut, Trent Smith (a former Raven and decent receiving TE) because of Bajema's progress.I like Scaife a lot better if the TE situation was not so crowded in Tenn.

sorry. can you make it idiot-proof? The Cleve TE situation should be interesting with Winslow, Heiden, and Shea. Also, many remember Baker's big game.It gets interesting this late.

Mike Sellers (TE-WAS) caught 7 TDs this season, and arn in 1 more. He's more of a blocker when compared to Cooley; but, with Saunders coming in as OC (and Saunders directing an offense that featured TGonzo), I would think Sellers has some value here. We don't know how it will sort out between Saunders keeping with the H-Back or involving Sellers more, but he deserves mention -- he did score the 2nd most TDs in the league for TEs this year.

Im in 10 leagues and he isnt considered a TE in any of them. He is a FB.That being said he was productive

Bo Scaife should be near the top of the best of the rest. There are rumors floating that the Titans will look to trade Kinney to get Troupe and Bo on the field more. Even as a number 3 TE, he was good for 37 rec and 2 TDS. You can expect similar numbers next yr if Kinney is traded or Kinney or Troupe falls to injury

Cooley's low, and frankly Todd Heap should be #2. The guy's a machine, especially with McNair. He's good for 50 yards per game and more often than not scores a TD on top of that. I would only put Winslow ahead of him in a PPR league.Gonzalez should be ranked in the lower portion of the top 10 for dynasty purposes - his best days seem to be behind him.

Cooley should be a couple spots higher. Heap is great. I'm a big fan. But look at Watson's targets the past month or so. Just last week, he was a couple fluke plays away from having 140 yards. He's been inches away from several more TDs this season too. Throw in his athletic ability, speed, smarts, QB, team and franchise situation, and his potential is through the roof. I'm tempted to go 1. Gates 2. Watson 3. Heap/Winslow...depending on how your league works and how much of a knucklehead you think Winslow is.
 
Don't forget about the Texan's Owen Daniels. I think he now must be considered in this discussion.

You could make the argument for Winslow at #1 now, which I never would have believed a year ago. I think Watson has become elite, but not top 3.Dynasty, I'd put them:1. Gates2. Winslow3. Heap4. Shockey5. Watson6. Gonzo7. V Davis8. Crumpler9. Witten10. Miller11. McMichael12. Cooley13. O DanielsA lot of good young TE's in the league. 4 of the top 5 above were born in 1980 (Winslow was born in 1983!)Winslow has been the big surprise of the year, Troupe has been the big disappointment.

:yes:Campbell definitely looks for him more than even Brunell did, and I'm starting to think that Campbell's stronger arm may actually start justifying some of the Gonzalez comparisons that some people were making given Saunders system, meaning deeper routes with him as a primary receiver. Is there a division with better TE talent than the NFC East? Cooley, Shockey, LJ Smith and Witten. Wow.

You may be absolutely right about Watson, but for dynasty purposes I'd like to see him do what he's doing just for a tad longer, which is why I like Heap over him.
