Can you pick 5 teams that won't make the playoffs? (1 Viewer)

If this doesn't belong in the SP, then feel free to move it to the FFA, but I'd appriciate it if it could stay. I'm offering two bets:

1. You pick 5 teams that you don't think will make the playoffs for this upcoming season. IF none of them make it, you win the bet and receive 100% of what you bet. If one makes it, I win the bet and get 100% of what you bet. If more than one team makes it, I get an additional 50% for each extra team.

Example: You bet $50

0 teams make it: You win $50

1 team makes it: I win $50

2 teams make it: I win $75

3 teams make it: I win $100

4 teams make it: I win $125

5 teams make it:: I win $150

2. You pick 6 teams that you don't think will make the playoffs. If none of them make it, you win the bet. If any of them make it, I win the bet. No matter how many make it, you only have to pay 100% of the bet.

Minimum bet: $20

Maximum bet: $2000

You may accept the bet anytime between today and before the start of the preseason. You may NOT change your selections once you pick.

You may have multiple entries.

If your post is edited at any time then I will not pay you should you win but I will still expect payment should you lose. Do not edit your post with your picks!

I do not have paypal. Bets need to be paid to me and I will pay by sending checks through the mail.

You need to PM me your real name, phone number, and address at the same time as you post your picks here in the thread(and post them here, do not PM them). If you request, I will do the same. If you win the money will be sent to the address that you gave. There are absolutely no exceptions with that, so if you plan on moving soon then maybe this bet isn't for you. Furthermore, with any large bet I might call before sending the money to confirm. The reasoning behind this is I want to have your personal info should you try to not pay if you lose.

Make your post with your picks. If everything is good with the PM and your picks, then I will quote your post and reply with "accepted." If you don't see this, then it is not accepted and you should contact me to figure out why not.

You can take your bet and insert it up your backside though.

I won't be making any bet, but here are the teams....

Brady Quinn sweepstakes

1. San Fran 49ers- They lost arguably their biggest playmakers on O and D. Oh and they only won what...4 games last year? Including one against the Texans.

2. New York Jets- Simply put, they are the 4th best team in a tough division, and oh, their QB is either Patrick Ramsey, Chad Pennington, or a Rookie.

3. Oakland Raiders- Brooks is no better than Collins. Their division was the toughest last year and will be even better this year.

Fatally flawed teams

4. Houston Texans- They would have to improve at least 9 wins, which has probably never happened in the history of the NFL. Gotta play the Colts twice.

5. Tennesee Titans- Ditto

6. Buffalo Bills- Still shaky at QB. That won't change before the season begins. Also shaky on both Lines.

7. New Orleans Saints- Deuce's knee and the homefield are still Q's. But that might change before the season begins.

Obviously it would be silly to make such a bet at this time. At this time I can't see any other team who DEFINITLY won't make it. Lions, Packers, Vikings might all be awful. But one could win the division.

I'd shy away from NFC teams. 8-8 makes you a legit playoff contender. In the AFC, it's going to take 10 wins to get in.

What about If i can only find 4 teams, can I make the following offer. If I win you only have to pay 50% of what I'd owe you? eg if 1 of the above makes it you get 100 units, if none do then you owe me 50units?

Not to mention, out of six possible scenarios, you lose on five. Plus, your upside is 2x your bet while your downside is 3x your bet.

Thats why I included two options. So people who don't like the first can choose the other one....2. You pick 6 teams that you don't think will make the playoffs. The topic is interesting though. I have no intention of betting anything, but here are five teams that won't make the playoffs:

1. Bills

2. Titans

3. Oakland

4. Dallas

5. SF

I think Dallas will implode - signing Owens=bad karma.

This is an interesting topic - Assani, add them up and post what the results are for selections.

No wager here.

I would say that marginal teams that have a shot mostly exist in the NFC.

NFC East - all have a shot

NFC North - all have a shot, even Detroit or GB.

NFC South - all definitely have a shot, except possibly NO. However schedule is brutal.

NFC West - all but SF.

AFC - It will take 10+ wins to get in again.

AFC East - NY Jets have the worst chance (never say zero). Bills 2nd worst.

AFC North - Yes, they all have a shot.

AFC South - Tennessee and Houston have about the same odds - both not good.

AFC West - Oakland has little chance.

Worst 5 - Oak, SF, NYJ, NO, Ten

I agree, I edited them out of my initial list.

If you had Paypal, I'd probably take you up on it, although I'm sure I would lose. I also wouldn't go for the stupid add-on of if two make it, I pay more, etc. I pick 5, if I hit all 5 I win the straight wager, if not, you do.

Maybe a pokerstars transfer?

It's one thing to discuss the teams we all think won't make the playoffs. But we are not running the boards so that people can make a bunch of wagers. If people want to make bets, etc they need to do that via PMs.
