You know I never have had this guy and never will have this guy but his rookie season with Balt. he showed alot of talent. If those wr's in Jax learn how to run some routes they'll be dangerous. They have speed, height and athleticism definetly on their side. I still think they are missing a "young stud" rb, but except for that they should be good for many years to come. Maybe Drew could be that guy, I really like Mercedes.
He and Clarence Moore seemed to have their moments and then were forgotten. What do their games lack? Why didn't their good games earn them more playing time/targets as is usually the case?

I guess one QB turned WR wasn't enough. In all honesty though, I wish it was Moore that left Baltimore and not Hymes. Moore made too many drive killing drops, refuses to go over the middle and gets alligator arms, which was the main reason he failed to hold onto his starting spot last year opposite Mason. Boller's go to was a jump ball in the endzone to Moore (6'6" I believe) for the better part of the 04 season.
Hymes has excellent body control and hands. I specifically remember a TD pass at home last year where Boller just had to lob the ball to him from the 4 yd line and it was an easy 6, instead he rifled it 3 feet to the left of Hymes and about two feet over his head(I know typical Boller)-he still managed to get one hand out over a defender in the air and make the grab. I don't know if he was in the doghouse or if his route running wasn't the best, but Hymes did seem to make plays when he was on the field.

I didn't get to see Moore too much(in games where I purposely looked for him) but he had some nice catches around the GL. Those wouldn't make me think he had poor hands. I did see Hymes drop some so I could see that argument.

The Jags also signed free agent Troy Edwards. This is his second chance with the Jags. Both these guys will join the competition for the 4th, 5th and possibly 6th WR spots with Cortez Hankton, Chad Owens, Charles Sharon, Felton Huggins, Fred Stamps, and Kahlil Hill.

Since it looks like he'll be trying for the 4 - 6 WR spot, I'd say he won't get the chance to do much of anything barring injury to one of the first 3. I did like his ability from what I've seen. But it's all about opportunity.
