No input on Donte? Surprising, to me - he's been steadily improving (in part due to better health) every year. He ended last year with 70 - 945 - 7 TDs, averaging 13.5 ypc. That's solid production. Assuming continued health and keeping a good attitude, I could see him holding those numbers or slightly improving in his fifth year.

75 - 1,000 - 8 TDs.

With Joe Horn almost a decade older than him and apparently on the decline, I would tend to agree that Stallworth stands to get some career bests. Brees' presence, assuming full recovery from injury, should also help get him consistent looks.

Still, this is a team with a new coaching staff and new QB in a city that's still reeling from Katrina. They're also in a tough division from top to bottom, with all three division rivals knowing how to play defense.

75/1050/8

He's starting to creep into WR1 territory in deep leagues, but would certainly make a strong WR2.

He is my super secret sleeper. Just like the last 4 years, but this year he is going to hit I just know it.

Horn only had one bad year. i think both Horn and Stallworth can imporve their numbers over last year. They saints dont have a good wr3 or te, so only Bush will be stealing their receptions.

Does seem to have the opportunity to havew a better than average year what with the arrival of Brees - but his attitude and issues in the mini-camps so far causes me to be a bit concerned, as do the trade rumors that bounced around a month ago (and still do to an extent).

It keeps a lid on his value in my mind, until I hear he's working hard and getting along with the new staff.

This is a good point. If he continues to disappoint Payton, his playing time could be diminished.

This tidbit from Foxsports makes me think he's figuring it out...Wide receiver Donte Stallworth, who was held out of mini-camp practices on June 3 because he was late for work, was sidelined for parts of the last of five practices.

Stallworth, who had minor off-season shoulder surgery, at times stood around flexing his left shoulder. But coach Sean Payton wouldn't say if Stallworth, the subject of trade talks this spring, was being singled out.

"There are certain things that we expect," Payton said.

"He (Payton) made his message clear when he first got here," Stallworth said, "and he doesn't want things like that to occur."

There's nothing secret about Stallworth, if there every was. He had a decent fantasy season last year and may be able to capitalize on that with Brees at the helm. However, he needs to improve his hands - he drops too many balls, and the aging Horn may be healthy this year, cutting into his numbers somewhat. 75 catches, 1044 yds, 6 TDs

I've been saying this since his rookie year. I just don't trust the kid anymore. He had a decent season last year, but his past inconsistencies lead me to believe he'll decline.66 for 871 and 5 or 6 tds.

People are either assuming Joe Horn is washed up or they're putting a major amount of faith in the Payton, Marrone offensive game plan :lofl:

Drew Brees is learning a new system (with a bum shoulder), the Saints coaching staff is one of the least experience in the league, Joe Horn is still the team's best wideout BY A MILE, and oh yeah, they added Reggie Bush who, regardless of whether Deuce McAllister is healthy, be a major factor in the receiving game.

Predicting 1,000+ yards for Stallworth without assuming injury to Horn makes very little sense to me.

Definitely will be down this year. Joe Horn is back, and Donte only had a career year because Horn was hurt last year. Bush will take away a lot of his catches, those catches for Reggie have to come from somewhere and this is definitely a prime place. Lastly, Brees is still somewhat injured and has never thrown the ball to receivers well, especially #2 WRs. He was nothing until Gates showed up. Stallworth: 61 catches, 833 yards, 4 td (at best)

It is had to convey :sarcasm: on a message board.

After all these years it's surprising to me to see people still buying into Donte Stallworth. I don't see it at all! He is just not that good nor is he tough. It's taken him way too long to even come close to success against the #2 CB's of the NFL. And now people think he's going to do better against the #1 CB's of the NFL? Give me a big freakin' break! He will never be more than an average WR. In '06 he doesn't break 900 yards. Can't believe the Stallworth project continues.

A healthy Horn and an explosive Bush could put Stallworth in more one on one coverages. There are enough balls to go around for 2 WRs on this team to reach 1,000 yds - the days of Joe Horn getting 1,300+ are gone. It'll be a much closer split IMO.Also, I think Brees is a better QB than Brooks, so if he's healthy the passing game should improve.

Well, for myself - I LIKE him - but not as #1 WR, not at all. Maybe one day, but not this year, exactly for the things you've pointed out. However, if he can clean up his attitude and habits, he certainly could be a solid flex player, perhaps even a #2, even in a new offense with so many weapons.

But I don't have him in a place where I need #1 numbers for him, that's for sure.

I don't know if something's changed since last week, but ESPN's John Clayton was discussing Stallworth on NFL Live, and he said that Stallworth was in the doghouse, and there was a possibility he'd get traded.

all these years?!?!?!?he's in his 5th year and his numbers for recs, yds, and TDs have improved the last 3. And this in an offense led by Sport Goofy.

There's still no talent on the depth chart behind him, Joe Horn IS slowing down, and Brees IS better than Brooks.

I was higher on him before I heard he's on the trading block. Assuming he stays in New Orleans and assuming he finds the doghouse exit:

73/973/7 - a great WR3

from xpertsports:WR Will Stay In New Orleans

While on "The Afternoon Blitz" on Sirius NFL Radio Wednesday, June 14, New Orleans Saints general manager Mickey Loomis said the team is not looking to trade WR Donte' Stallworth. Loomis added, "I've seen some of those rumors. Most of it is unfounded. I've gotten a couple of calls, I think as a result of the rumors more than anything else. But we're not looking to trade Donte' Stallworth. He's an integral part of our team and we're expecting a big year from him."
