Does your competition read this forum?

If so does it affect what you say here?

There are a couple of Sharks in my main league and I wonder if they read these forums and if they do, do they benefit from my comments. Can they tell who I am from my posts.

Maybe I am just paranoid....wondering if anyone else shares my paranoia. :banned:

I'm certain that a couple of the guys in my league have to read this board. Either they do, or I'm pretty disappointed in them. Anyway, I still share my thoughts, but I try not to be too forthcoming with league-specific information (i.e. "so I just drafted Vince Young with the 6th overall pick in our rookie draft behind the guy who took Lendale and in front of the guy who took Leinert. . .")

Tough question to answer. I'm in a league with a bunch of FBG's put together from this forum....but I really wouldn't call them competition.

:championship:

I'm in a couple of leagues with guys that write here. I doubt it effects what they say.

I don't water down what I am going to say because a leaguemate may see it.

Yes

and

No ... that's why I think Dillon will be in the top 5 and LT2 will have 600 total yards and 5 TDs! :bye:

dynasty league = yes

there are a few sharks in this league... i don't worry about what i post.

re-draft = no

they all think i'm a genius and study this stuff 24/7. when i really just come on here a few times a day get the info i need and post a few thoughts. my subscription is worth the jolt of self-esteem alone.

the best part is when guys in your league spend time in the ACF and do a running commentary on their draft, looking for suggestions, etc...

Easy there champ.... Good post though - I like the confidence. At least you didn't inherit one of the weaker teams. I'm rebuilding baby!

Yes, I know at least one leaguemate lurks here, and I suspect there are probably one or two others that I don't know about.

No, I don't really let it affect what I say, except in very rare occassions. I tend to be pretty forthcoming about how I feel about certain players anyway, and I don't play in money leagues, so it's not like I'm looking for every last possible edge to exploit. If, as a result of my posts here, someone I like is drafted before I get a crack at him, or the cost of acquiring a player via trade goes up, then oh well. I mean, it's not like there aren't other players out there that I could acquire just as easily. Besides, over 50% of players have preseason rankings way out of whack with their actual finishes, so if someone jumps on a player because of something I've said, then oh well, odds are I was wrong anyway.

There are a couple of super-sleepers I wind up keeping under wraps until I have them on all the teams I want them on, but outside of that I don't really watch what I say.

Hmmm...while, I do know that some guys that play in my leagues read this forum, I do not consider them "competition", for they cannot begin to challenge the dominance I bring to the table! :D ;)

Honestly, it does not affect what I say much, because I rarely express strong opinions here. Rather, I tend to research and learn. I wish that I could contribute more, but usually, someone brighter than myself makes the points that I believe better than I ever could. :pics:

Yup. Someone brighter than you. Like those aforementioned league-mates that you "dominate" on your way to a bottom-4 finish. :hophead: :boxing:

In all of our years (*all leagues*) , how many "bottom 4" finishes have I had? How many have you had?How many SB trophies do I have? How many do you have? You like stats...right? ;)

I admit that it took me a while to adjust to the scoring system in our non-standard league, but I would daresay that I've kicked your tail all over the map in our keeper league. I've never not posted the best record in the league. I'm not sure if you've ever even made the playoffs. In fact, there's only the one league where I've ever finished outside of the top 4.Besides, you have to cut me some slack, grandpa. Some of us haven't been playing fantasy football since the Carter Administration here. :excited:

Have I ever made the playoffs in our keeper league? Is your memory that short? I lost in the SB while you were watching from the sidelines last year! :D How many SB's have you played in...in the one where you "kicked my tail all over the map"? In fact, I only missed the playoffs in our first year in that league. And that one league that you have not fared well in, it IS the closest league we have to standard. And, IIRC, you have finished in the bottom 4 every year you have played! I have 2 SB trophies out of the last three years. And the year that I did not win the SB, my very first loss of the whole year came IN the SB.And in our 3rd league, I have come in 1st place every year I played except one. How many have you won?
Besides, you have to cut me some slack, grandpa. Some of us haven't been playing fantasy football since the Carter Administration here. :excited:
That may be true, but I really need a link to the Shirt! :lmao:

I need to get it out of my system now, it's gonna be a rough year...my rebuilding starts in six days!

I have no idea, but I don't think they'll ever notice I'm here. (unless they see my DD at draft day)

Some of my leaguemates definitely lurk.

It doesn't affect what I say all that much though. There are a couple of favorite picks I've got that I won't pimp, but other than that, I'll give my opinions.

Yes.

Sometimes. Leagues I'm in with other FBGs through this forum, like No Mercy, I really don't care if they know who I like/dislike.

With my dynasty league, not through this forum, I do hold back quite a bit. I'll get involved with draft talks and many rookie talks, but I'll never get too indepth and at times post things that may mislead them. For a few years now I've not posted my full rankings, mainly because I typically have multiple first round picks and some of the guys picking between me visit this site. Since I'm a very active rookie pick trader in this dynasty league, often moving up/down for certain players, I just prefer to keep some things to myself.
