Game Thread W1 - Seattle V Detroit (1 Viewer)

Footballguy
Welcome to the start of the 2006 season.

Once the game kicks off this thread will be pinned, but for now it will run on its own merits.

Please provide your thoughts, pre, during and after the game.

Remember that not everyone will be watching this game, so if you could provide detailed analysis it would be much appreciated.

Things like 'Go Reggie' aren't what we are looking for.

Why will team X win?

Who is the QB targetting?

How are the lines looking?

Who's running the ball well?

Who looks in over his head?

Who's injured (also reference this in the injury thread which will be created once the sunday games are live)

Anything that you think will be of benefit to someone not watching the game or who doesn't care about your fantasy team.

Post game analysis, in particular is what we want to see.

Go for it

(KFFL) Tom Kowalski, of MLive.com, reports the Detroit Lions have not lost a season opener at home since 1990, when they lost to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 38-21. Over that time span, the team has won five consecutive season openers at home.

This could be a nice little upset to get the Super Bowl Loser's Curse and the Madden Curse underway...

Kevin Jones has looked very good thus far. He had a 9 yard run that could have been a 1 yard run...and a 13 yard catch that should have been a 6 yard gain. He also was targeted on a pass that could have been a 15 yard gain or so if he wasn't held. The penalty helped lead to the FG. I hate to say this...but Kitna/Jones and the Detroit offense actually look confident and smooth out there.

Two Lions linemen (Backus and DeMulling) both made the comment this week that Martz hadn't shown anything during the preseason and was holding a ton of the offense for the regular season. Take that, obviously, for whatever its worth.

Detroit D looks real nice.

Rogers just crushed Hasselbeck.

2 blocked FGs

Anyone else think that was a fumble out of the endzone just before the FG? Receiver dove for the goalline, didn't make it, fumbled, and the ball went out of the endzone.

Current SEA target count:

Engram 6

Jackson 4

Burleson 2

Strong 3

Mili 2

Alexander 2

Morris 1
