Game Thread W1 - Baltimore V Tampa Bay (1 Viewer)

Welcome to the start of the 2006 season.

Once the game kicks off this thread will be pinned, but for now it will run on its own merits.

Please provide your thoughts, pre, during and after the game.

Remember that not everyone will be watching this game, so if you could provide detailed analysis it would be much appreciated.

Things like 'Go Reggie' aren't what we are looking for.

Why will team X win?

Who is the QB targetting?

How are the lines looking?

Who's running the ball well?

Who looks in over his head?

Who's injured (also reference this in the injury thread which will be created once the sunday games are live)

Anything that you think will be of benefit to someone not watching the game or who doesn't care about your fantasy team.

Post game analysis, in particular is what we want to see.

Go for it

I know most Ravens fans want to see the "new" offense, but I'm really interested in seeing the Ravens D today. The starters gave up one TD in the preseason, but gave up some big plays. If they're dominant - as opposed to merely being good - I think they can go a long way this season. Keep an eye on WLB Bart Scott. This dude is nasty, fast, & hits like a Mack truck.

As for today's game, it's all about the Ravens down linemen getting to Simms. The Ravens D is geared towards big plays & can be burned by a good QB with time to throw.

I have visions of the Bucs' playoff game against the Skins last year..... low scoring, lots o' turnovers.

Top things I will be watching:

1) The aforementioned "new" Ravens offense.

2) Chris Simms' progress, though playing agianst this defense may not prove a thing.

3) Any deterioration in Galloway's game.

4) Mark Clayton's progress...

I suspect there will be some buy-low candidates after this game due to the anticipated low score.

The Ravens' O-line has shown little to no improvement during the preseason. If they do not pull it together a little bit for this game, Tampa Bay could dominate them defensively.

Also, the Ravens are 2-5 in openers under Billick and have not won a road game since 2004, against the Jets.

SO is Lewis looking hesitant at all?
He wasn't looking hesitant in the pre-season, so I'm assuming nothing has changed.
I wasnt asking about the preseason.
Not much of difference, guy...
Wow, I didnt know preseason counted for all that much so Lewis might not have ran as hard. Also, Lewis missed more than half of it so I guess there is a big difference. And the guy response, that was funny a couple years ago but try something a little newer.
