Game Thread W2 - Tennessee V San Diego (1 Viewer)

Andy Hicks

Footballguy
Welcome to Week 2

Once the game kicks off this thread will be pinned, but for now it will run on its own merits.

Please provide your thoughts, pre, during and after the game.

Remember that not everyone will be watching this game, so if you could provide detailed analysis it would be much appreciated. ***PLEASE BE CIVIL***

Things like 'Go Reggie' aren't what we are looking for.

Why will team X win?

Who is the QB targetting?

How are the lines looking?

Who's running the ball well?

Who looks in over his head?

Who's injured (also reference this in the injury thread which will be created once the sunday games are live)

Anything that you think will be of benefit to someone not watching the game or who doesn't care about your fantasy team.

Post game analysis, in particular is what we want to see.

Go for it

Dont think this will be as bad a blow out as the Raider game, but I fully expect a SD win.

Decent Garbage point potential in D.Bennett and Collins.

The Titans played the run well against the Jets (2.7 YPC) but they will have a hard time holding the Chargers with LT and Turner to that. I frankly don't see how - barring turnovers - the Titans can win the game since the Chargers are better on both sides of the ball. If Rivers can avoid mistakes then the Chargers should win easily.

I dont know if Rivers can avoid mistakes but what i see is that they avoid having Rivers throwing the ball ( the simply dont trust him )

I dont know if it was trust, as much as they didn't need to throw. Oakland was getting nothing done.

That's far different from my take. I think Marty trusts Rivers every bit as much as he trusted Brees. There was simply no reason to pass the ball last week. He will pass the ball when the game situation calls for it. (He is, by the way, the NFL's top-rated passer right now. ;) )

I've stopped responding to people saying there is a lack of trust. Some people just don't follow the Chargers that much.On a side note, can't wait for the game tommorrow. You going MT, if so come by out tailgate G4.

Can someone explain to my why this game is not in HD on DTV?
Chris Brown asked for it not to be - he doesn't want his next "injury" to be broadcast/recorded with the extra resolution. Also so it will make it tougher to read Marty's lips when he tells his defense "don't let them in the f***ing endzone!" again.

I think Rivers shows us a bit more goodness this week to get him more positive NFL experience heading into the tough stretch of the Charger schedule after the bye. So much so that I'm starting him this week over Plummer and Vick.

As a Rivers owners I want to throw out that folks sould temper their enthusiasm regarding the kid. He did great last week but he WAS facing a weak Oakland D who was on their heels from facing the run all day long... He'll be alright against TN but he's gonna throw at least one pick this week to go with his 1-2 TDs...

For those of us without the game, does anyone have any insight into who was lined up at RB for the Titans today during that 1st horrible series?

Thanks

Right now Rivers has thrown the ball (13) more than Tomlinson has rushed it (12). Marty probably doesn't trust LaDainian though.

Almost a huge hookup between rivers/gates. Just off gates' fingertips.... we were looking at 30-40 yards there

Rivers looking composed in the pocket under pressure... checking down nicely (though at times maybe a bit quick to go to LT...though who can blame him).

What a #### call. Titans get their first down via a bogus penalty :lmao:
Is it a joke that it took a penalty to get the first down? Yes.Hard to call a specific, clear violation of a rule a bogus call. :loco:
The refs called him for throwing VY to the ground, but it's clear in the replay he was trying to hold him up. They didn't call a late hit. Titan fan? :lmao:

Rivers is on pace for nearly 300 yards (at 74%) and Tomlinson's pace has him at over 200 yards of total offense (and 4 TDs). McCardell is on pace to just miss 100 yards.

Pretty god half for the Bolts, stat-wise.

Blind?
I understand you are frustrated, but don't take it out on me :lmao:
Is Rivers looking as good as his stats indicate? How is LenDale?
He looks pretty good, but the Titans D has been out on the field all day. They are getting tired and their backfield is being forced to make hits on LT.

Hard to say, he has looked very solid, but he's dumped it off to Tomlinson on every other pass play. He had one big play to McCardell for 25 yards or so IIRC. He's also had a key 4th down run play.Lendale White has 2 car, 6 yds...impossible to say anything about him yet.

Kaeding trying to single handedly make up for my entire fantasy team. Bless his little pea-pickin' heart.
