Week 2 Waiver Wire Pickups (1 Viewer)

cotchery if he wasn't grabbed last week.

toomer maybe

braylon

berrian

lots of WR4 and WR5s basically with the chance to be decent WR3s.

Owen Daniels (TE, Houston) was the closest thing to a breakout free agent in my deep league.

If you are not in a deep league, the following guys may have stepped it up:

QB Andrew Walter, Raiders

RB Ron Dayne, Texans

RB Samkon Gado, Texans

RB Musa Smith, Ravens

RB Michael Turner, Chargers

WR Koren Robinson, Packers (Return Leagues)

WR Arnaz Battle, 49ers

WR Bernard Berrian, Bears

WR Bryant Johnson, Cardinals

WR Mike Furrey, Lions

In my passing TD = 6, INT -3, I'm done with Plummer. Watched Kitna on my bench put up a decent 15 against the best D in the league and Plummer has a total after two weeks of 1.

Grossman and Alex Smith are my top priorites and are available. One will be taking Plummer's place on my roster.

I am totally with you, in fact Im dumping Plummer for Rex and then Lions D (long story) for Pennington. I may even dump leftwich for A Smith and play the matchups. Jake is done as far as Im concernedI may pick up Kitna also who is on ww

What is Walter's value really? Does everyone think Brooks is done. I can't say 3 int. and 3 fumbles is the way to win the starting job. Plus do you really want to touch the Raiders offense? Just curious what others think?

Brooks will probably get one or two more starts but his leash is incredibly short. Walter got the ball moving and that can't be ignored.

WR Cotchery

TE Colston

QB Pennington
Colston is a reciever isn't he?
He's been listed as TE/WR on Yahoo.I don't have anyone new to add but Cotchery, Furrey and Colsten went in my leagues last week and proved themselves valuable immediately. So scoop them up if they're available. Cotchery's TD today was nothingless than sheer will and he's a good size for RZ looks. Berrian's fast and Rex seems to have the deep ball down pat. Grossman is another possible FA, though likely gone in medium sized leagues. Furrey tooka pounding today but was getting alot of looks, as was Colsten.

Romo was looking good last week but Bledsoe is doing alright tonight.

Cutler might be a nice pickup in DEN if the snake continues to struggle.

Brees looks good, has similar weapons to what he had in SD though not yet at the same level. But he has a tough division to deal with.

As for Andrew Walter, I know they faced 2 really tough Ds, but I wouldn't touch a Raider with John Madden's johnson right now. Nice OLine Shell.

Berrian -- if he's available.
We never see Chicago in the Philly area. What can you tell me about this guy? Thanks

Willie
Bernard Berrian- He was a stud at Fresno State, where he was David Carr's top target. A knee sprain slowed down his college career and cost him his junior season. After a decent senior year, he was drafted in the third round by the Bears in 2004.

- Despite only running in the 4.5 range at the scouting combine, Berrian is a legitimate deep threat who has consistently shown the ability to get deep and make the big play.

- Berrian started to come on late in the 2005 season, compiling ten catches for 222 yards in his final five games (44 yards/game, which comes out to 710 yards over a full season).

- Berrian was one of the standouts of Bears training camp, where he routinely made big plays.

- Comp players: Ashley Lelie, Eddie Kennison, Chad Johnson

They have a somewhat similar playing style. Take that for whatever it's worth.

He probably won't be a Peyton this season, but if you're desperate for a QB, I think he'll do. If Shell does the right thing and names him the starter tonight, he'll have two weeks to fine-tune a relationship with the starting lineup. He's been there for a year, so it should be a good fit.

Not much available in my league, but Im thinking about snagging Cutler just in case.

Also Im ready to drop Lundy but may have to start him (or Foster) next week due to LTs bye :bag:

All these guys taken in my league :(

I will add,

M Robinson.

He may be taken in most leagues, but someone may drop him with Gore exploding.

Could be worth something IF Gore goes down.

Need a TE ... add Des Clark :pickle: :pickle: :pickle:

.. I did this past week and started him over what I thought was a pretty good draft pick in C Cooley :tfp: ... I'm  lovin' that pick-up

We can keep up to a max of 4 RBs and WRs on our rosters (makes for move FDA moves and @ $2 a pop it adds up), so there are many viable FAs available in out league. B. Edwards, Reg Williams, Colston and even I Bruce are all out there for the taking. I drafted Wilford but am considering 'upgrading' to Reg. Williams. I like JAX schedule so I'd most likely pick him up before Colston, unless someone can convince me that Colston would make a better keeper (we keep one per position).

I was among the many who dumped Plummer this week; did it in favor of Grossman. Also cut Engram and picked up Reggie Williams. Tried to get Clark at TE, but someone beat me to it.

Obviously you didn't watch the game, and didn't read the boxscore closely enough.Walter had 3 INT's, 3 fumbles (1 lost), and completed 10 out of 27 passes. I'm not saying it's his fault, but those starts are hardly those of a QB that gets the ball moving, unless you mean moving behind him.

Luckily they don't play the Ravens every week.

Shocked to hear people dropping Plummer already. That being the case, surprised people aren't mentioning Cutler as a pickup.

My ww moves for wk 2 were:

Arnaz Battle (get pts for return yards)

Bills DEF

Morency

Walter absolutely SUCKED in that game. Was a sitting duck in the pocket and a turnover MACHINE. Sure, they're not gonna play the Ravens every week, but Walter looks like as much of a disaster as Brooks. As far as waiver wire pickups in the near future: Whichever D is playing the Raiders is worth thinking about.I can't imagine ever being in so desperate a situation where I'd be starting Walter the way he's playing right now and as bad as the Raiders look. Especially when the ONLY QB injury so far this year has been to Brooks?

Nice to see the Bills Def on this list. Many WW discussions focus so much on offense, that it's useful to discuss WW defenses.
