DENVER (TICKER) -- The Denver Broncos added depth to their receiving corps Monday, signing wide receiver Quincy Morgan to a one-year deal.

Financial terms were not disclosed.

Morgan, 28, had nine receptions for 150 yards and two touchdowns with the Super Bowl champion Pittsburgh Steelers last season, his fifth in the NFL. He spent the entire preseason with Pittsburgh before being released on September 2.

The 6-1 Morgan was a steady contributor on special teams for the Steelers, averaging 25.3 yards on 23 kickoff returns last year.

A second-round draft selection of the Cleveland Browns in 2001, Morgan has 164 receptions for 2,466 yards and 17 touchdowns in 79 career games with Pittsburgh, Dallas and Cleveland.

To make room for Morgan on the active roster, the Broncos waived wide receiver Charlie Adams.

Wasn't he rumored to Minny also? This is good for Williamson as he could continue to rake in those return yards.

Seems like depth to me
Not even that. I would put his chances at actually playing WR this season (except maybe in 5 WR sets) at just over zero. Historically, whenever Denver signs a WR in midseason, that WR doesn't get any PT all season long, because he's way behind the learning curve. This is 100% a special teams move. Denver's return game has been horrible, and Morgan's a very solid kick returner.
