Sooooooo....by "somebody", you mean you?Get Pittman if you haven't.Someone will pay if this is true, and pay dearly.I own Caddy in 4 of my 5 leagues.![]()
Wow that's some solid info. Thanks.if this is true.. this is NOT good.
I have 3 herniated discs and have learned to live with them. With a lot of stretching I still play sports every week. Albeit I don't play in the NFL, but I don't have the medical means that pro athletes have either. Basically what I'm saying is, Caddy can play with these and from what my doctor told me, the younger you get them (I was 19 when diagnosed) the less chance you need surgery. He said in time the jelly substance inside the discs that had come out in mine could harden over time and make it much easier to live with. I believe that is what happened.Yikes, I have those. They are so freaking painful it's not even funny.![]()
But it was on the ESPN2 Fantasy Show so it HAS to be true.I'm off to go drop Caddy and pick up Alstott while you guys sit in this thread. Later.Haven't heard anything around here. Not on the news, radio, team site, boards, etc.![]()
Was wondering that myself. When exactly did Matthew Berry become an NFL insider who was able to break major news stories before anyone else even got a whiff of them?Just curious.

I've got 2 of them. I got them at 22. They don't seem to be getting better at all. Matter of fact they seem to be getting worse over time. I stretch and play sports still. Every once in a while however, I will "tweek" the disc's and life become hell for a solid week waiting out the pain again. It's a paralizing pain, I'm sure you know. I know they say that you can play with these, but given the violent nature of NFL collision, I can tell 100% there is no way I would want to do it. The hits is actually the least of the worrries I would say too. To train for NFL football, you need to do lifts that put hihg amounts of strain on the lower back. Having a herniated dics would make doing those lifts nearly impossible. My Doc told me to stop them altogether. Are there any good TB message boards where this might be discussed? Was wondering that myself. When exactly did Matthew Berry become an NFL insider who was able to break major news stories before anyone else even got a whiff of them?Just curious.
He may not be an expert, but he is drawing a lot of sharks to this thread. When exactly did Matthew Berry become an NFL insider who was able to break major news stories before anyone else even got a whiff of them?Just curious.
Buccaneers Official Site MB Not even a hint of herniated disks being discussed. Are there any good TB message boards where this might be discussed? Was wondering that myself. When exactly did Matthew Berry become an NFL insider who was able to break major news stories before anyone else even got a whiff of them?
Just curious.
are you talking about his back or his GROWIN muscle?I saw it on the ESPN2 show "Fantasy Show" today, and they said he had a DOUBLE hernia and it did not look good. They also said get Pittman ready.
Pewter Report is the only one that's any good. Nothing I saw on it there. If this was news, the PR would've broke it before Matthew Berry did.Are there any good TB message boards where this might be discussed? Was wondering that myself. When exactly did Matthew Berry become an NFL insider who was able to break major news stories before anyone else even got a whiff of them?Just curious.

I don't care what you do. Just seems odd you pimp a guy for 18 months, and them dump him after two weeks. Not a concern of mine though.I get off the bandwagon too soon still GB?![]()
"2 herniated discs" ≠ "double hernia"I saw it on the ESPN2 show "Fantasy Show" today, and they said he had a DOUBLE hernia and it did not look good. They also said get Pittman ready.
Dude works for ESPN. And while HE is a nobody, you can't ignore the hugeness of ESPN and how badly they wan this show to work to grab a hold of this part of the market. Fantasy Football is huge business now. Rememebr Joe and Davis saying they wouldn't even bother with an offer for their site for less than $15 MILLION? Imagine the potential worth of a fantasy show that grabs fantasy owners the same way ESPN, FOX, and CBS's pre-game show grab the normal fan. And, I'm not sure the major networks have space for a show like that.In summary, I'm sure ESPN will funnel all of their resources to a nobody like Berry and the future of this show.Still, I'd like some more evidence but I've got an itchy and nervous trigger finger here this evening for Pittman in my FCFS waiver systemed main money league. When exactly did Matthew Berry become an NFL insider who was able to break major news stories before anyone else even got a whiff of them?Just curious.
Do you honestly believe that if ESPN had this story that they would give it to Matthew Berry instead of Mortensen, Clayton or about 1,000 other far more credible NFL insiders that work for them? This isn't a major fantasy story; this is a major NFL story. No way in hell does ESPN give it to Matthew Berry just to pump up some interest in their fantasy show. Maybe this rumor is true, anything's possible. But I'd be FAR more inclined to believe it if it came from a credible source -- even someone in the fantasy industry with clear connections (and there are a few of those). But Matthew Berry is the last person I'd expect to see break a major news story of any kind. But that's me.Dude works for ESPN. What i want to know is IF this IS true, what can we expect out of Caddy first and foremost. How is it going to affect him? Sometimes I pull the trigger too early on guys as soon as I see a guy sniffle ofn the field. If you play in a hyper-competitive league with FCFS waivers sometimes you have to do that to get the jump. But, knowing a guy has some type of injury and knowing for sure the guy behind him is going to benefit greatly from it are two different things. If true????????????????????????????????????What could we expect out of Pittman?
Caddy owner, and herniated 5th lumbar owner since the age of 21. If this is true, i am very pessimistic about Williams future. I have learned to deal with life with a herniated disk over the last 12 years, getting hit by 250 pound LB is something i try to avoid.I've got 2 of them. I got them at 22. They don't seem to be getting better at all. Matter of fact they seem to be getting worse over time. I stretch and play sports still. Yea I may have generalized it a bit too much in my earlier post. I'm sure it's different for everybody. I have never done squats or any lifting in relation to my lower back since I was diagnosed, but the pain has subsided quite a bit over time. Either that or I've learned how to live with them better. I guess what I should say is that since it may differ for every person, we cannot write off Caddy just yet, if this injury is true.I've got 2 of them. I got them at 22. They don't seem to be getting better at all. Matter of fact they seem to be getting worse over time. I stretch and play sports still. Honestly, knowing what I know about my injury. I just don't see how Caddy can play this year or will ever be the same after it. If this is true of course. It is what it is said:Sounds like you have tears in your 3 disks as well, which would create the leaks. You might want to look up an IDET procedure, or even now they have disk replacements that are not very invasive, in comparison to past options. On to Cadillac Williams...if I remember correctly your lower back has three disks, the L4-5 disk, the L5-S1 disk and another I cannot remember the name of at the moment. IF Williams has 3 herniated disks as reported, then guessing that they are the 3 disks in the lower back, he will likely be done for this year.I have 3 herniated discs and have learned to live with them. Again if I remember correctly, Troy Aikman retired with two herniated disks in his lower back some years ago...and the QB position and RB position are two different animals.
Not a doc here, but a little bit of disk information to ponder...

He didn't play much in preseason last year either.I agree with the majority, that the story is probably conjecture; however, the conspiracy theorist in me says it would help explain him not playing in preseason and an MRI after week 1's game.
Wasn't that because he reported late and/or didn't know the playbook? He didn't play much in preseason last year either.
I'm not sure of the development of the story inside ESPN but this thread was started at 9:50 PM so who's to say we won't see it come up on the 11:00 East Coast time Sportscenter?Edit to add: I get you on Berry ad I said the exact same thing, he's a nobody. But, I'm not sure ESPN has to always make their "stars" look good and noone else since they are a news network as well as an entertainment network. I was just saying however improbable Berry is the supreme cognoscenti of the NFL, it wouldn't surprise me to see the network throw this show a bone, especially considering the potential it has. Come on, a huge multiple channeled, 24 hour a day network NEEDS programming and if serious fantasy owners are watching and they get a jump on picking up a fantasy running back that helps them to a fantasy championship then they'll tune in, same Bat time, same Bat Channel. However, I am by no means convinced at all. But as some kind of fish swimming in the ocean, I'm listening intently. I'm taking the law of averages approach.Do you honestly believe that if ESPN had this story that they would give it to Matthew Berry instead of Mortensen, Clayton or about 1,000 other far more credible NFL insiders that work for them?
