[DYNASTY] 1.01 pick in '07 - your choice (1 Viewer)

From the '07 draft picks thread... I wanted to know which one of the two tremendous athletes you would aim for if you had the 1.01 pick in next year's [DYNASTY] rookie draft...

Let's assume that Adrian Peterson and Calvin Johnson declare for the draft... not the biggest prediction here!

Let's assume also that you don't pick based on your needs (we don't need to know that you have 14 RBs and no WRs - and this is why you would pick Johnson)... let's look at their future NFL career...

I know that Marshawn Lynch is a wonderful prospect at RB... same can be said of Ted Ginn Jr / Dwayne Jarrett / Sidney Rice at WRs... but I don't think anyone can argue that given the chance to pick Peterson in front of Lynch - or Johnson in front of the other WRs - you would have to go with one of the two...

I have added the "other" option for the sake of the discussion - if you would prefer Lynch - tell us why...

With that in mind - and knowing that usually RBs are kings (except for a few members that prefer the longevity of the WRs instead of the RBs)... I wanted to know if the load that Peterson has already had along with his powerful running style - coupled with Calvin Johnson's tremendous talent... if you would opt for the WR instead?

Most WR's can take several years to develop.

I would always go RB, especially when it come to Peterson

Peterson, but this is a great year to have a top 3 pick - Peterson, Johnson and Lynch have elite potential. Not to mention Kenny Irons.

It's Peterson. If he doesn't wear down under this ridiculous workload, he should win the Heisman and be an easy top 5 pick next year, and probably an instant top 15 RB for fantasy, with top 5 upside. He's got a rare combo of the ability to be a pounder and the ability to take it to the house from anywhere on the field (not to mention some sick change of direction skills at times). I would say he's an equal/better than Ronnie Brown or Steven Jackson in a pure talent comparison.

The poll served it's purpose - we clearly see that Peterson should be the top pick in next year's [DYNASTY] draft... a 4to1 ratio in favor of Peterson over Johnson...

I'll create another poll, linking this one (and I won't go further than the second pick - rest assure!) because I think the real discussion - and the most interesting will be between Lynch (RBs are kings) and Johnson (eliet talent at WR spot)...
