Jets :: WR, OL, DB

WR L. Coles, OG Kendall, Miss Practice

Andrew Gross, New York Journal News - [Full Article]

WR Laveranues Coles (calf), OG Pete Kendall (thigh) and S Kerry Rhodes (thigh) highlighted a list of Jets who were listed as questionable and did not practice. Overall, the Jets had 16 players on their injury report. LINK

Coles is playing, I will say it again, he is one of the toughest most realiable (to start every week) WR's in the game. Think of the anti-Donte Stallworth.

And given that the Jets dropped Norm Katnick, the guy who was starting at LG in place of Kendall, I think Kendall is very likely to start also.

.....however......

He's still fargin "questionable." ANyone know if he's any healthier now (or at least not worse)?

As with last week, LC is a gamer and I have no doubt he'll play (and probably play well). This is a big game for the Jets to show what they're really made of, and I can't see him sitting out.

Did anyone watch the Jets game last week? Did he look hindered?

He missed Wen. and was limited Thurs. The same practice schedule as last week. I think he is safe to start, but continue to monitor his status.

The Jets' local papers treat Laveranues Coles' calf injury, that has landed him on the injury report again this week, as a non-story.

He's officially "questionable" and missed portions of Jets 11-on-11s the past two days but seems highly likely to play. This situation may continue through the early part of the season. It was the same deal last week.

pure speculation, but i would think we would have heard if things turned worse after last week's game. he's in my starting line-up, and i'm confident he'll be as competitive as any WR on sunday.

Sounds like another tact Mangini has taken from his guru, Beli. No idea just what any injury is, or is not.

Coles should be good to go, however it would be nice to get some update information on his status
I doubt you'll get much info, especially with it now being Saturday and Mangini's tight-lipped philosophy. I would play Coles regardless - as mentioned, I don't see him sitting this game out.

FWIW, Steve Cohen from footballinjuries.com mentioned on WFAN this morning that Pennington, Coles and Barlow were all banged up but all are expected to play this week.

Yeah he's so ready and about to tear up the Colts' D that he's picking splinters out of his butt on the bench. Good call.

fn Coles

He's had at least 3 targets (one in the end zone). 10 seconds of research before posting goes a long long way.
