Osi Umenyiora hurt? (1 Viewer)

Maelstrom

Anyone know Osi's status? Just got home, I heard he was on the ground for an extended period but haven't been able to see if he is back in the game or not, or if there was an update yet.

My apologies to other Umenyiora owners as i forgot to tell you he was on my team and thus doomed for injury. In the future I will try to get a pinned thread listing my players so you know who to avoid.

Lost by 2 with Osi and Hasselbeck in my lineup this week

And two weeks ago I lost by one with D Bennett and M Peterson in my lineup

According to ESPN.com, he's questionable at this point for next week.

"The Giants also lost defensive end Osi Umenyiora to a strained hip in their 36-22 victory. He went down late in the second quarter, returned for the start of the third but lasted only one play. He was helped back to the locker room, and the team said he's questionable for next week."

Looks even worse:"Oct 24 New York Giants DL Osi Umenyiora (hip) underwent an MRI exam Tuesday, Oct. 24 and could miss significant time with a strained left hip flexor. He will be replaced in the lineup by DL Mathias Kiwanuka. "

Looks like time to find a replacement...

He's officially listed as questionable. However, I doubt he plays from what has been written lately. I am more concerned with his status for the next few weeks. Too bad, he was just starting to get it going.

That's what your sig is for:1. You can update it, and it updates everywhere you've posted.2. People would actually care about the team in YOUR sig as it's injury jinx central.

Time to see what Kiwanuka can do!
Sig, what are your expectations for him? I think that Strahan gets all the attention allowing Kiwanuka a lot of room to manuvure this week. Grabbed him in a redraft and thinking about utilizing him over Berry. In a dynasty I will be forced to use him-upon activating him from my taxi squad (Didn't want to, but no option). Don't want to turn this into a Coaches Corner thread, but seeing as how your post is somewhat leading......

I know that their two DE tandems tend to be side-specific, but what does this mean for Tuck? Will he and MK rotate at all?

Tuck was listed as questionable with a foot injury and didn't participate in team drills at all this week so he's probably not going to be an issue this week. If Osi's injury lingers as some reports suggest, I think the answer probably depends on how well MK plays this week. I think Tuck would've rotated with MK this week if healthy, though.

From KFFL

Oct 30 New York Giants DL Osi Umenyiora (hip) could miss several more weeks with a strained hip flexor. Head coach Tom Coughlin said Umenyiora did make progress in his treatment last week, but he did miss the Week 8 game.

He made progress, but could miss several more weeks? This piece of info seems worthless. Coughlin is not the one stating that Osi could miss several more weeks. I don't think I know more about Osi's status than before reading it.
