Cowboys coach Bill Parcells made an interesting revelation about the injury to wide receiver Terry Glenn. Glenn missed his second day of practice with what is reported as a quad injury. Parcells revealed during his Thursday press conference that Glenn has a bone-on-bone condition in the back of one of his knees.

Because the injury was at the back of the knee, Parcells was technically being honest by saying the problem area was near the quad.

Bone-on-bone conditions can only be repaired by microfracture surgeries, but those procedures are done as a last resort. Glenn can play through this injury even though it's painful. If he doesn't practice Friday, though, he may have to miss the Arizona game.

did he practice friday?

regardless, with TO, witten, JJ and MBIII, i think glenn will have to compete for touches and given his injury, it's not worth the risk. i'd probably go with guys like cotchery or henry over glenn if you've got them on your bench.

I saw this. I picked up Crayton in my dynasty league.
the issue with that is crayton is slow, so they will want to replace glenn with a speedster. hurd is also slow. the only player that has speed other than TO is miles austin, and no one really knows anything about him other than he has good measurables. BP didn't play him in preaseason to keep him a secret.i wonder if ted ginn will be available for the pick, that would be perfect.

Local speculation is that he's not going to play.

It appears that Hurd will start if Glenn cant go. I was baffled when the Cowboys, a team with old WRs, only signed Crayton to a one year deal this offseason. Why is parcells insisting that Crayton stay the #3? All this kid does is produce when he's given targets. Does Dallas not realize what they have? I mean, I know he lacks blazing speed, but so do about 80% of NFL starting WRs. those burning questions aside, this is not as big a deal as it would have been a month ago. Glenn was relegated to the 3rd target in this offense when Bledsoe got benched, and if anything, this just increases Witten and TOs value for the stretch run.

so who is the guy to pick up here, hurd or crayton? being a glenn owner

They really like him, just think he's still raw.

Hurd may start for now, but Crayton is definitely the guy to pick up IMO. If Glenn continues to miss games, I could see Crayton putting in a suprisingly solid second half of the fantasy season. Parcells said in an interview that Crayton has been one of those players who they use for a multitude of tasks and his body gets a bit more banged up than they'd like. While he didn't say it exactly, I think he was implying that depending on Glenn's condition going forward, the team may look for other players to take some of the responsibility off Crayton in other phases of the game so that he would be more fresh as a WR. That's speculation to some degree, but if you're in need of some WR depth I'd grab Crayton without reservation at this point. With Romo at the helm, and coverage stacked on TO, the production winfall for Crayton could be significant if Glenn's condition continues to worsen.
