I went with Hawk, but easilly could have gone Ryans. Even though I'm not sure how long McCarthy lasts in GB, I don't see even a new CS changing the scheme in GB dramatically, based on the personnel they have in place... Kampman, Hawk, Barnet, KGB. Kubiak is safe in Houston for a while, and Ryans has proven he's a stud in that system.

I don't see Vilma as a top ten.... not in this scheme that Mangini uses, and Mangini is going nowhere for the foreseeable future. I think next year Vilma might break top ten, but that is near his ceiling in this scheme, I believe.

Same here.

The thing with Witherspoon, and disagree with me if you will, is that I think he is a natural WLB, not an MLB. In the Rams system, he's going to put up nice numbers, I just am not confident that he will be the Rams' MLB in two or three years from now.

I guess I'm not that confident that any current MLB will still be starting in two years. Odell Thurman was supposed to be a lock for the next 10 years, Mike Peterson was one of the best LBs in the NFL last year... and neither might be their team's MLB next season. With Witherspoon, it's hard to say whether he's a natural WLB or was just kept there by Dan Morgan. It seems to depend on which team - in Philly I couldn't see them putting Witherspoon in the middle, but many teams seem to be headed to the smaller, quicker MLBs lately.

I'm pretending that I'm in an initial dynasty league and, for whatever reason, want to pick the 2nd LB. With that in mind I'd pick Ryans.

Mike Peterson down?Out of sight, out of mind, Hmmph.
Actualy yes he is down with an injury right now. I would think his role is still safe when he returns to health but that is not entirely certain and he begining to get older also.TKO was a top Linebacker before his injury also but it has taken him a long time to come back.I will add him to the next poll and people can still vote for him in the other category right now.
