I'd reverse the first two, but these are the three to consider IMO.
i have brees over mcnabb because of the injury factorwhen McNabb plays he is a great FF QB, but he has had season ending injuries in what, 3 of the past 4 seasons?i view Brees as the safer pick, he looks like he has recovered from the shoulder injury and see no reason why he would go down again, he isn't getting sacked very often in N.O.

like brees too, but concern re:mcnabb for obvious reasons

I would wait for rivers or romo to fall to me and be happy

Vick is very likely to become the next Kordell Stewart if he doesn't turn it around, and soon. Atlanta has lost 4 in a row, including losses to Cleveland and Detroit, and Vick has completed just 45% of his passes with 3 TD and 4 INTs over that time frame (with no rushing TDs). And obviously he's starting to lose the fans. Kordell lost his job to Tommy Maddox; Schaub is better than Maddox. If Atlanta misses the playoffs this year, Vick will be down to his last strike. The only reason he's even in the discussion is that fantasy scoring perversely rewards running QBs.

One would think this would be the case, but Vick is a different type of cat, he is the only reason ESPN/casual fans pay attention to the Falcons...they will give him the benefit of the doubt for the next five years.

The only disagreements I have with this are that his WRs sure aren't helping him, and that I don't think this is the best offensive set for him. Schaub is definitely quality, but I expect he'll be gone this year or next. Atlanta is stuck with Vick at this point, and, based purely on potential, he'll get more chances.

I suppose it's too early but Romo should get consideration. He's mobile and Jerry is known for going after talent. I know it's a very small sample size but Romo and Brady's stories are too similar and the production is certainly there. That said, I think I have to put McNabb somewhere up here too assuming this latest injury doesn't cost him mobility.

:2cents:

If Ben and Smith are on here, Leinart should be.

As an owner of both Roeth and Leinart, it would take more to pry Leinart from me. I'd probably put him close, maybe above, Eli and Vick.

Atlanta has now gone out and gotten two different fairly big-name free-agent WRs, both with 1000-yard receiving seasons to their names. Did they suddenly suck when they came to Atlanta? Or is Vick's inaccuracy and propensity to run rather than throw impacting their numbers?

I think you mean traded - Price and Lelie, correct? I think Price's situation has been well documented, and the fact that he couldn't succeed with Dallas and a trip back to Buffalo (though Losman isn't exactly high-quality) mitigates things. I think most would acknowledge that Lelie isn't really a "high-profile" guy, and I've counted several drops on balls that should have been caught the last few weeks (I don't see how being 1 ctach of 15 targets the last 3 can be all Vick's fault).Has Vick helped his guys? Probably not. But it's not like they've added a TO or Moss either.

There are at least 20 QBs in the league who don't have a TO or a Moss, but have passed for more yards than Vick. It's not like Atlanta has not tried to address the WR position; at some point you have to look at the one thing that's been constant (the QB).

My TO or Moss was directed toward your fairly high-profile WR comment, and Atlanta has the least passing attempts in the league, so it makes sense that a lot of QBs would have more passing yards.I think we agree that (at least at this stage) you don't draft Vick hoping for 4000/28. You draft him for the 800/6 you hope he gets on the ground, along with 2500/18.

The point is, Vick's value is inflated in fantasy leagues by the way fantasy scoring is done. His NFL value is lower than his fantasy value, and it's very possible he will lose his job if he doesn't turn it around soon. Atlanta has the least passing attempts in the league, partly because Vick pulls it down and runs with it all the time. Why does Warrick Dunn have just 14 receptions? If Atlanta loses to Jason Campbell and Washington this week, they're pretty much out of the playoffs, and the boobirds will get louder.
