Here is a list of all 32 teams with their projected salary cap room for 2007:

AFC EAST:

BUF - $37.9M

MIA - $16.8M

NE - $27.0M

NYJ - $24.3M

AFC NORTH:

BAL - $5.5M

CLE - $31.8M

CIN - $31.9M

PIT - $1.4M

AFC SOUTH:

HOU - $19.8M

INDY - $4.5M

JAX - $31.1M

TEN - $39.9M

AFC WEST:

DEN - $5.7M

KC - $6.1M

OAK - $14.1M

SD - $24.7M

NFC EAST:

DAL - $21.2M

NYG - $14.4M

PHI - $10.7M

WASH - $1.0M

NFC NORTH:

:coffee: he allready got paid though.Really there is such a glut of quality Rbs in the NFL right now I don't know that the free agent market will be that good for Rbs despite how much money many teams have.SF 41 mil :lmao: Still loving the Vikings pay it forward style of cap management. Not sure if many other teams are following suit on that or not.

I agree that the Iggles also do some very creative bookwork to keep thier cap number down. Hard to say what the actual numbers will end up being when teams can make cuts and clear huge chunks of cap space.

As a bolts fan this makes me happy, the two closest rivals have little room as of right now.

Yes it was, I was re-watching Football in America (yes, I'm one of the few) and saw something useful and thought I'd share it.Glad you mentioned the Eagles - I was wondering myself - they are usually one of the best cap management teams around.

 
It looks like that's before incentives hit the cap, I'd guess that's why there's so much wiggle room. That right Jeff?

Don't shoot the messenger :D . I'm no official capologist, and I don't how Peter King derived the numbers (or had an underling do it for him), so I can't testify to validity. Just shared the info.He didn't make a point to say why there was so much room for some clubs - I think it is in part from the cap increasing, but I don't think that is official for several more months (roughly March IIRC).

That and the fact DEN is going to have to spend a TON of $ if they want to keep Javon Walker. I was very, very pessimistic about the chances Walker would ever see all that $ from DEN but as that team stands right now I'm not sure they can afford not to pay him too much.Are these #'s as of today? The reason I ask is SD has spent quite a bit extending contracts on all the key players on the team and if they are still $24mil under the cap after locking everyone up then SD should be comfortable for quite a few years.

The numbers were broadcast by NBC on Football in America during Peter King's spot. Take them for what you will. I dug no further.

As a Jets fan, this is a little comforting - we really need to address our RB situation. Cut Barlow and Blaylock and maybe go after Turner. I'm not sure Washington or Benson is the answer there ... I sure wish we hadn't let Lamont Jordan goNi

that number includes Walker's contract, he was signed to a mulit-year option which amounted to a 1 year contract if they wanted it to be, but when cap numbers are reported, they include ALL current contracts. There are no major free agents that are coming up with the Donkeys this year so they are ok, just need to add WR and safety help. Add to that they have 4 first day picks, I think they are actually better off than you think.Add to it Plummer will be cut after June 1, which will probably save them about 2.5 million this year and then the cap is expected to go up by 7 million so you are looking at about $15 million in cap space with the team intact. Not really a big deal. I think with the amount the cap is going to go up in the next few years, we aren't going to see that many teams in salary cap hell, not for a little while at least.

:rant: As if Ralph Wilson will spend all of that money.If he does though, the Bills could be pretty big players this offseason. Hopefully that means that re-signing London Fletcher will get done. The Bills could also use an upgraded O-line, a solid run stuffing DT and will need to get a CB to replace Clements.Anyone know where there's a list of upcoming FAs?
 
Word in Nashville is that the Titans number was actually 41mm at the old level, but now that it is increased that they'll have $48 MILLION under the cap next year.

Not sure if this is figured in but they'll also have the $ from Zach Pillar and Peter Sirmon next year, too, and those total in the $5mm range.

My opinion: They'll sign one of the top 2 CBs on the market and a top tier DE.

These numbers and Indi's recent slump does not look good long term for the Colts.

 
It's really hard to make anything out of this without knowing what veterans still need to be signed. Obviously the chances that someone with $40MM is better off than someone with $3MM is pretty good, but the large majority that's in the middle is hard to interpret without knowing more about the specific situations.

I know SD has signed all of their starters longterm but Philips and Hardwick so they are in a good position with their extra cap space, but Spanos is pretty cheap and AJ likes to build through the draft so I don't expect there to be any big FA signings.
