My goal was solely to provide you with something for you to post about, because I knew you wouldn't have anything to say about the thread subject matter itself.Glad I was able to do that for you.good thing you read it and posted in it then.Big Score said:I could've done without this thread.![]()
Why exactly is this thread so offensive to you?Big Score said:I could've done without this thread.
:(FAVRE!!!!!!!!!!
Fixed.FAVRE!!!!!!!!!!
FLA\/\/ED!!!!!!!!!!
They're just repeating the same stuff over and over again. This just gives them one more thing to fill their 10 hours of rhetoric.cacksman said:Great, during SB week... I would love hearing more about Favre and not about the years biggest game that is about to happen.
I don't like when anyone takes away from the attention on the game.Coaches leaving their teams, player might retire etc. Pick another day to announce it.
Not really. With the way Favre has dealt with this whole retirement thing over the last couple of years...this is exactly what I would expect from him.Ghost Rider said:I hope Favre has more class than to save the announcement until the week of the Super Bowl. Cris Carter did that the first time he retired, but I expected that from an ### like him. Favre is better than that.
Favre probably never said anything about when he was going to retire. I looked up some things about where this story was supposedly coming from. First - this story "originated" in Milwaukee and not Green Bay.Second - the guy "breaking" the story is the last guy on the totem pole where he works. No way he gets this kind of scoop when others are better informed than he is.Third - this whole thread should be deleted because no where, no link nothing, has any proof that Favre said anything. Not really. If this is true, what an attention hog! Its bad enough last spring wasjeter23 said:Dave Marcus of WTMJ Channel 4 in Milwaukee is reporting that a "Favre family source" has told WTMJ radio that Brett will announce his decision during Super Bowl week, and that if the decision was to be announced today, that he will indeed retire.
Trey said:He should just announce it during halftime at the SuperBowl. No need for a musical performance, I'd just like to hear from the immortal Brett Favre for a few minutes.
Unfortunately outsiders will take the first post and run with it like fact. There is ample evidence of that happening in the few posts already made. The same posters that do not like Favre or blame him for all the media attention given to him will also not listen to facts either. With as many people in the WTMJ viewing area on this board only one person comes on here to "confirm" the story... odd itsnt it?This thread like the claim made in the first post is ALL rumor and in no way should be taken as fact at all. Unfortunately it is being taken as fact.I have a hard time believing this.My take is it's a ratings ploy from Channel 4 here in Milwaukee. Every night on the sports they have their shot of Favre on a tractor and call it their "Tractor Watch" Stupid, ridiculously stupid. No way this happens during Super Bowl week.
Straight and to the point. Perfect. If you think that he will announce that during the SB week, you're dumb. As simple as that.
This would actually be pretty funny. It'll be a big fancy shmancy Super Bowl commercial.Favre> "In the last several weeks since the season ended, I've done some soul-searching. I've weighed the options, I've thought deeply, I've discussed it with my family, and I've finally come to a conclusion...I PREFER PEPSI OVER COKE!!!!

No, Favre wouldn't do something like this. This doesn't surprise me. Favre would do something like that. I hope it's not true.
When was there ever a need for a musical performance? They generally suck, even when there is a wardrobe malfunction. It would be refreshing to just have someone talk about football for a change. Maybe even a preview about what is on the horizon for the other 30 teams...(ok - a guy can dream, right? Even if they did this they'd probably have Skip clueless or some other talking head do it...)He should just announce it during halftime at the SuperBowl. No need for a musical performance, I'd just like to hear from the immortal Brett Favre for a few minutes.

Brett is bigger and more important than the Superbowl.

Yeah, absolutely zero chance the glory wh@re himself would try to one-up Super Bowl week, like he did last season. How ironic that this happens on Groundhog Day, aptly reminiscent of the movie with a storyline that happens again, and again, and again, and again.
These so-called family sources and the tools that try and use them have been wrong more often than they have been right. Before you beat up on Favre maybe we should see if this actually happens.
