Ugh..well the offseason is now upon the Chargers so where do they go from here? The coaching staff will probably change in one form or another with Shotty leaving/getting fired (doubtful IMO) or Cam Cameron leaving (likely) for a HC job.
Key players
- McCardell - probably gone
- Phillips - try to resign
- Diehlman - try to resign
- D. Edwards - gone
- Turner (RFA) - could be dealt to plug a hole, dealt for picks, retained for another year
- Foley - gone
- Kiel - gone
Needs
- WR - I've been on the Parker/McCardell combo is efficient/clutch bandwagon but the wr corp and Parker in particular was one of the major reasons they lost the game. VJ should have had a TD if he toe taps the 30 yard pass from Rivers and he had an easy 22 yard drop as well but he is getting better but I don't believe he's a #1 wr at this point. They will keep Parker but he's better suited as a 3rd wr IMO.
- Safety
I'm not sure of the cap situation for next year since AJ continues to resign players. I imagine they'd spend their effort in the short term on getting Diehlman and/or Phillips signed and figuring out their HC/coordinator situation for next year. I doubt they'll dabble in free agency much (at least no big ticket items). The emphasis has been on the draft and will probably continue to be.
So what's the next move(s)?
