QBs Zac Taylor (Nebraska), Matt Gutierrez (Idaho St), and John Murphy (Shrine Game Selection)
John Murphy - listen to what this guy says - he was all over Colston when we talked at last year's Shrine Game. Murphy told me after the interview that Jacoby Jones would benefit from management that is stronger on a national level than what Colston had. He said that Colston's estimated time was 4.8 before the combine, so only at the combine did scouts realize the speed he had, and seemed to imply that Jones's management was going to make sure that scouts were well aware of his talents. It made me think that perception and presentation were bigger parts of a player's draft position than I ever realized. He also said the Saints were prepared to take Colston as early as the 5th round.
We have secured interviews with John Murphy throughout the draft season, we will be checking in with him at many important points in the process. You must tune into the Audible this Spring if you love the draft, John Murphy is one of the best draft experts anywhere.
