Wanna know what LT is worth....seems like it would be something like. Gore 185 and Addai 120. (LT 300)

Wanna see what the 1.01 is worth....AP is worth something like..Caddy, Drew, Chesta or even Addai....just to give you a range. I wonder what this would look like for wr's.

This would be a great guide to trading as well....especially dynasty trading.

Are these just arbitrary numbers? What's the basis?

Just arbitrary, i wish someone could do a rankings like that. I was just going off the top of my head but just to give you guys an idea.

I think you could normalize auction values from inaugural dynasty drafts into a 100-point scale based upon the percentage of fantasy bucks used to acquire each player . . .

The problem of course would be that league size, roster size, scoring, etc. would cause variations that such a simple system wouldn't be able to account for.

I am also curious about this. When I project a player for 3 years I end up with a number that could be used similarly to this.

I've kicked off a discussion with Bloom, Grant and a few others about making 4-year projections for dynasty purposes.

Give us a few weeks to test drive it.

I admire you guys for trying, but any projections beyond a year or two, with only a handful of exceptions (e.g. young developing franchise QB or established, still-in-prime franchise QB) seems futile. So many roster and coaching changes occur from year to year that the future gets cloudy beyond a year very quickly.

More weight will be given to earlier years.I'll discuss it more when it debuts.

 Curious what weighting formula you guys chose to use. 4 years is ambitious. A soft spot between 3 and CPs 5.

i have posted suggestions on 'outlook'before. just offer a + or a - indicating a forecast as to whether the player may increase in value over three years

Honestly... I don't see how this is going to change things...

Whether you have some point system or rank 1-100 it's not going to change people's valuation of players... it will be the same as currently is done, imo.

I think the idea of posting maybe what the highest ranking you expect the player to reach within the next few years (or lowest) would be a solid addition to rankings

:goodposting: I cant wait to see this. While I love the Draft Dominator, something like this would be alot more useful as I am pretty much in dynasty leagues only anymore. This would be a definate plus and something very useful and fun to look at in the offseason and year round.:christmascominginfebruary: :headbang: :pickle:  :excited: unless of course you bring it sooner.

Unless EVERYBODY in the league is fully on board with these rankings it really doesn't matter what your chart would list LTs value as. It might be a useful tool when starting trade talks or justifying your rankings/asking price, but that's about it. People always value their players higher.

The same can be said for normal rankings as well. The #'s seem like more detailed tiers to me, and a decent concept. When putting together the dynasty polls ast year, I had toyed with the idea of creating individual polls for each player (would have taken up WAY too much space here) having people rank each player on a 100 point scale. Creates a better idea of who is close, and where the perceived tiers are. We could do the same here, in one thread. good work.

Well what your saying is definitly true. Everyone values players differently.Where having a point value system helps you is mainly when talking multi player deals. You still need to negotiate on your trading partners level. But having somthing like this can help you guage the value of deals for yourself and decide if they are acceptable to you or if you need to add somthing more on either side.

Standard rankings won't help this?Just because a few guys come together a put point values on players, it doesn't mean that it'll be a "fair deal" based on what the two owners are working off of. It will be just as useful as using the standard rankings.I think the effort and energy that it would take to make this type of rankings will be much greater than the benefit to the users. The current rankings as helpful in talks as the point rankings would be.

Maybe so, but not everyone agrees with the consenus rankings, which is not going to make the point rankings that much more useful

I agree with Patoons and Karma that just because I may have something that says my offer is a fiar one doesn't mean it will be accepted (especially in some of the leagues I'm in) but I do think it would be a very good tool to use. This seems to be a similar idea to the Top 250 Forward, but for dynasty purposes. I can't wait!!

Well 1st of all I don't expect myself or my potential trading partner to take any ranking, point based or not as how they value those specific players in thier individual team strategy. Nor am I really trying to make trades be more "fair".However having a point system based on projections is useful to me. I can then make comparisons of player values over time and especialy in multi player trades be able to decide if such a trade is worth it to me or not. There may be times where my trade partner offers me for example 500 points of value and I am only giving them 300 points. I am still going to judge if this trade helps me or not based on how it might effect my lineup and what I expect from those players. But if I see the value being more on my side I am more likely to accept such a deal.Somthing the points does that straight ranking does not is it gives you an actual value to compare. My adding a player ranked 8th and 24th compared to players ranked 10th and 27th does not tell me anything really. Comparing projections of players in point values on the other hand does.

I agree with everything you stated in the previous post aside from this.I still don't think a point rated rankings by one group of people is going to drive "value" amongst various types/forms of dynasty leagues - I would think the rankings would be an interesting to take a look at but I don't think it's going to be that much more helpful.

Well I prefer using my own projections to someone elses. But it would still be interesting to look at someone elses.I'm not sure what effect public dynasty projections might have on other owners perceptions of player values. I figure the more informed they are the better off they will be though which does not really help me.

We have discussed this within my main league. The only way we could do this in our setup is to have last seasons points be the intial value and them apply some modifier based on age/years of prosfessional experience. Last season's scoring is the only non-arbitary base line we could agree upon. Hope this helps..

How's the test drive going? :wall:
We will definitely have something to address the 4 year outlook on the player pages this year. more news to come.
Update? Thought I saw a Dynasty trade value chart here but can't find it. Was I day dreaming?
