These are consensus dynasty rankings for year 2007 1pt./tackle .5pt assist 3pt./sack or interception 2pt. forced fumble/fumble recovery 1pt./pass defensed.

If you vote other, please specify.

Also, please comment on your vote, and list any player that should be nominated for the next round. By doing this we can get some good information about players being considered here and why. If everyone contributes then each poll position can be similar to a player spotlight. That is idealy what I would like to see. I definitly need feedback on what players you think should be on these polls that may not be. I do not have as much knowledge of IDPs as I do offensive players so all of the good players on defense are not neccessarily in my forward memory banks so to speak. So I need some help from the rest of your there.

1. Adrian Wilson 10/12/1979

2. Kerry Rhodes 8/2/1982

3. Troy Palamalu 4/19/1981

4. Gibril Wilson 11/12/1981

5. Sean Taylor 4/1/1983

6. Madieu Williams 10/18/1981

7. Sean Jones 3/2/1982

8. Chris Hope 9/29/1980

9. Ed Reed 9/11/1978

10. Champ Bailey 06/22/1978

11. Charles Tillman 2/23/1981

12. Bob Sanders 2/24/1981

13. Terrence McGee 10/14/1980

14. Keith Lewis 10/20/1981

15. Ken Hamlin 1/20/1981

I am curious how Mcgee was rated so high. Anyone want to enlighten me?

I voted for Winfield as well. I voted for him because he is (as Tick said) very consistent (at least 88 tackles, 8 PD and 14.2 ppg since 2003 in our league). Also in that same time period he has played at least 14 games each season.

B. Dawkins should be rated higher. He is consistently good year in and year out. I don't understand why he is not getting any respect. It looks to me like these rankings are to biased towards age. Just cause they are older doesn't mean they are not good for dynasty.

I agree completely.Particularly when evaluating a position like DB, where there may be anywhere from 5-10 solid prospects that show themselves in any given year, you ride the consistent talent until it completely breaks down. In the current FBG scoring system, Dawkins has been a top 20 player (2003 projected) for five straight seasons. He's been top five for two consecutive seasons. He's a solid tackler and cover guy and is a well above average big play threat. No way I take guys like Ed Reed, Bob Sanders, Terrence McGee, and Keith Lewis ahead of Dawkins today and I'd have a hard time taking Ken Hamlin or Champ Bailey over him in the scoring system listed too.
