snorlax

Zzzzzzzzzzzz.
This is a runoff of this poll.

These are consensus dynasty rankings for year 2007 standard FBGs scoring no PPR

Also, please comment on your vote, and list any player that should be nominated for the next round.

I like the chatter going on so lets keep that going as we vote. Discussion about why you prefer one of these players compared to the others is useful to everyone involved and offers insight into how people in your leagues may view these players compared to others.

gheemony made a great point about one way to consider dynasty value for players in rankings by giving 50% value to 2007, 33% to 2008, and 17% to 2009. I know there are many ways to look at this and how hard it is to project for players even for one year. But I think it is significant enough that its worth mentioning. I am sure everyone has a different formula that they might use. But this one to me has some good balance and makes a lot of sense. And now has become a topic of discussion in this thread: http://forums.footballguys.com/forum/index...=296123&hl= I welcome you all to read this and offer your perspectives on methods you use in determining where to rank players in dynasty leagues.

Calvin Johnson is looking way overrated here. How many times does the top rookie WR have to be a bust before people learn to choose the better veteran first?

I think he is overrated also but in a dynasty draft he will go earlier than he should based on the learning curve of most WR coming into the league. That said Calvin is a Freak and could straighten the curve!!

Bump for more votes. This poll seems to be trending toward an early conclusion, but looks can be deceiving.

One more bump for the night. I'm hoping for a new poll sometime this weekend, maybe even tomorrow night.

Bump for the day. Is there anyone you would like to see added to the main poll?

Voted Holmes, Jones, Cotchery. Couple guys that might go in would be Brandon "EEEEEEE" Marshall (hi Bloom) and Devery Henderson. And if Jarrett is on the list, Ginn might be added as well.

very.might just go with a 3 way tie here.
This poll is decidedly Holmes, Jones, and Cotchery in that order so far. I'll explain why later, but I'll probably have a new poll up by tomorrow.
I get the math, just don't think the difference is that big.
It's big enough for 76 votes in a runoff, which generally seem to get fewer votes. I'll let it go until it gets another 15-20 votes at least.

Jerricho Cotchery 06/16/1982, Matt Jones 04/22/1983, Santonio Holmes 03/03/1984 [ 7 ] [7.95%] Jerricho Cotchery 06/16/1982, Santonio Holmes 03/03/1984, Matt Jones 04/22/1983 [ 19 ] [21.59%] Matt Jones 04/22/1983, Jerricho Cotchery 06/16/1982, Santonio Holmes 03/03/1984 [ 11 ] [12.50%] Matt Jones 04/22/1983, Santonio Holmes 03/03/1984, Jerricho Cotchery 06/16/1982 [ 18 ] [20.45%] Santonio Holmes 03/03/1984, Jerricho Cotchery 06/16/1982, Matt Jones 04/22/1983 [ 15 ] [17.05%] Santonio Holmes 03/03/1984, Matt Jones 04/22/1983, Jerricho Cotchery 06/16/1982 [ 18 ] [20.45%]
As it stands with just counting first-place votes, the tally is 33-29-26 with Holmes leading, a fairly close vote. However, in an instant runoff, Cotchery would be removed first as the player with the least votes. Then Cotchery's 19 votes with Holmes as #2 are added to Holmes's totals, and the other 7 votes are added to Jones's totals. This gives Holmes a much more convincing 52-36 edge. Thus Holmes is WR #28.Now since Holmes has been awarded a spot, he is removed from the equation, and his votes are added to Cotchery and Jones as we did above. This increases Jones's edge from 29-26 to a more convincing 47-41. Though not as definite as Holmes's victory, it's good enough at this point to give the #29 spot to Jones. Thus the poll finishes with Holmes, Jones, and Cotchery in that order. I'm putting up a new poll shortly. I plan on adding Devery Henderson, Brandon Jones, Brandon Marshall, and Ted Ginn, Jr. I think that's probably enough for the next poll.
